ALL other footy matches being played

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

That's why I said Brenda wouldn't have done any worse. Surely if Klopp is a good manager he'd be doing better than he is? He celebrated a draw against WBA the other week like he'd won the Champions League final. That says it all to me.

Yeah but I think that Moonchesteri's point is that these players were the players Rodgers wanted and got. He could do no better, while Klopp can do as good with the players he didn't buy but can do better with players he himself has acquired.

I like Klopp but it seems that he's the one trick pony that even some if his most ardent fans in Dortmund feared he was.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

I will give him benefit of doubt as he has not had a pre-season to work with this lot. Also, it is hard to polish turd.

Our players deserve a spanking for that shambolic performance v them though

I dunno. The squad was created by Rodgers, and he was sacked very much in part due to poor buys in the transfer market.

A lot of money spent mostly fizzling into them overpaying for mediocre talent and/or players that don't mix well together. Lallana, Ballo, Firmino, Marković, Lovren, Lambert, Origi. Tens of millions spent on most of these players and none have shown to be worth the fees at all.

Suarez, Can and Moreno the best buys, but that's a poor record, and Suarez is gone, obviously.

Klopp needs players to fit his style of play. I don't think anyone can turn mediocre crap into wine. He's assessing who will stay and go and then put his stamp over the next few windows. Then he can be properly assessed.

and how is anyone supposed to win when you've got Mignolet (or Bogdan) between the sticks?

He will attract better talent, and has a better track record buying/developing players when Dortmund were competing for titles against the mega-giant Bayern who effectively get whoever they want and have endless funds.

Back from the park. Obviously didn't miss much.
Our dog wouldn't piss on United never mind play for them.

Alright alright calm down. We all know you've got a hardon for Klopp or anything to do with Dortmund.

Didn't the squad he inherited from Rodgers nearly win the league the other year? Interesting....

I can't see how anyone that understands football can fault Mignolet today. He had sod all to do. Rooneys blast was from less than five yards , he could do sod all about it .

We're right back in the frame now. However we need a proper performance at West Ham next Saturday. Win there and we're set up to knock Leiceater and Spurs out of the race in February.
Arsenal have some tough fixtures in the next few weeks but their last five are four gimmes and us away. I suspect we'll need to be in front of them by the end of March.

Barca 1-0 up after five minutes with Bilbao down to ten men. This could be a rout in the vein of Madrid a couple of weeks ago

That save Butland made vs Giroud is one Hart does week in and week out and he did one yesterday. He is a decent young keeper but people thinking he is better than Hart need to wobble their heads.

joe has consistently been our best player over the last 5 years. that takes some doing. amazes me that some people still question his ability.

He's a good keeper and I hope he keeps playing well as it keeps Joe on his toes when he knows he has competition for that England spot.

Nothing wrong with Hart's shot stopping at all.

His command of the box and his distribution however.... Kicking the ball into the back of a palace player nearly cost us a goal yesterday.

For the record, I think joe is England's no 1, but there are aspects of his game, that Butland does better imo.
