Bonucci every day of the week !

Now I'm a big fan of bonucci's but I can't be certain I would agree. The prem is played very differently to seria A and I go back to the fact he is 29. Stones with prem experience and time on his side may be a better bet. Either way £50m is big money which may not see a good return. What do we consider as better value alternatives ?

This move has to confirm that the target set for Pep is to immediately get a team together that can win the CL.

The owners were always in a hurry, but now that Pep is actually here they have decided that their time to go all out is now.
Looks like they will deliver on whatever Pep requires to suceed immediately (and also take no chances that the horrible person at the Rags could out do us).

This is the only way I can make sense of paying £50m for a 29 year old.
Bonucci is Vinny's direct replacement and we will probably buy Stones as well.
Then Stones can be developed over the next three seasons - he will be the successor to Bonucci.

This is great stuff.
Forget value for money, that is a side show. Not even a factor for the owners.
The owners have said to Pep we want immediate success. Tell us what you need. We will get it, finance is not an issue.
When we get it Pep, we trust you to deliver on the field.
(And also build in succession i.e. Stones, Nacho, etc...)

Nice post and thoughts , totally agree its about putting a team together to win the CL ASAP now pep is here !

As well as the premier league. It's always been very much the priority over the champs league according folk on here.

are we sure we can pluck Bonucci from a defensive side where he plays alongside two other great defenders and bring him to the PL under a diff coach and expect him to be great?
I'm not really a City fan. I'm just here for attention.

Di Marzio says the scum are prepared to offer Juve 120 million euros for Pogba and the player himself 13 million euros a year. In other words blow Real out of the water. Real could recoup half that by selling Kroos to us. Are they prepared to get involved in this extraordinary bidding war with the scum? I hope they are.

I am always suspicious when the rags are linked to these mega deals. They very rarely materialise.
For the Glazers are they happy with 4th and CL or do they want to be winners again?
The next couple of transfer windows will answer that.
To keep up/catch up with us and become winners again they are going to have to spend BIG in the short team.

That is what the horrible one will be demanding. Will they back him?

If there is a deal for Pogba or similar then they want to be winners again and will back the horrible one.
No mega deals and they are settling for 4th and a CL place.

Based on their record in the transfer market over the last 5 years I think the Glazers are happy with 4th and CL spot.
It makes business sense - minimal spend gets maximum return.

We will know pretty soon.

Have the rags sold out all their season tickets?

Stinks of the usual 'we're getting Ronaldo back' type of bullshit that 'happens' every summer...

No, the tits have moved to the back pages now, writing the 'sport' articles.

Real Madrid can flip Morata and Kroos and get most, if not all of the money back, so I don't think it's an issue for them.

Not if us staying out of the bidding gives us first dibs on Kroos.

Re Pogba, if Madrid want him, they should have no problem in getting him. Pretty much all of their players have value, so they will have no probs raising funds. It maybe all a case of waiting to see if Kroos is amenable to joining us, and then all the pieces fit.

Jordan Ibe to Bournemouth for £15m. Makes the Sterling fee almost seem cheap

But, but, but the dippers told us last summer that Ibe is better than Sterling.
