Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Time for a formal introduction.
Although firstly an apology..... I was introduced to the forum a couple of seasons back by bobby brows, wrote a couple of previews, ranted once or twice about referees and then rather ran out of steam! Since then I have been a serial forum abuser, lurking in the shadows as a "guest" and enjoying the blue utopia without contributing (mainly in part due to the fact that I had a hopeless phone and never found time to sit at a computer.) Now armed with the latest technology I am attempting a comeback with the promise to contribute to what is a great forum and even joined the fantasy football league.
As for the introduction, I'll keep it brief.
I've been a season ticket holder for just over 20 years and have recently started to take in the odd EDS game too, although have probably only been to a handful of away fixtures in that time! Really looking forward to the new season, got a good feeling about this one.... Come on City!
Oh and one last thing, if I start to complain about referees too much please direct some abuse in my direction, I've done some refereeing in my time which obliviously makes me an "expert" so I get a little caught up with it sometimes!

Just signed up. Mancunian, grew up in Audenshaw, first match Hartlepool in FA Cup Jan 76, season ticket from 76-77 and on and off since then, now living in London with three children who have been shown the way of light and truth (i.e. Blues in a school full of Gooners).

City supporter for 55 years. Season ticket for as long as I can remember. Pleased to be part, at last, of this fine mcf.net crew.

Welcome Bev, City supporter for 55 years? Well you just have to give us a story of your first match. I know everyone loves these.

First game I remember was v West Brom. 1968. I was eight or nine. I couldn't believe I was actually on the Kippax. Rather sad of me, but I took my specs off for a few minutes. Why? Because I didn't want anything to get in between my eyes and the sight of Lee, Bell, Summerbee. Not even NHS lenses. I think we won. But it was the experience of being there that mattered.

I've had a difficult two years losing both Mum and Dad last year, but I'm back, retired at 52 and loving life. Mum started with cancer in September 2012 and fought it for ages but died in March 2014.
So proud of the team this year and I always had faith that Manuel was the right man for the job. If experience has taught me anything, playing managerial merry go round is not a good idea.
It seems obvious to say it, but the UCL draw has been kind to City and I can't see anyone catching us in the Premiership.
Take care folks.

Hi
I've been a City fan since 1975. Living in South West with Manc father who was a rag. Settled on it and was immediately a junior blue still have my silk scarf.
In 1981 wrote a letter to Peter Sales asking for two tickets to the cup final. Got a hand written reply and went with my Grandad. Still have tickets, went to reply and cried all the way home aged 10.
Seen the lows Bournemouth away in Div 1 and last Main Road game bloody Saints winning a drudge 1-0 .
Enjoyed Barnsley win to secure promotion and more recently at last the FA cup I dreamed of . Sadly no Grandad with me this time. Looking forward to chatting.

Good to meet you junior. My mother passed away this summer after being sickly on and off for 3 years. Just as she seemed to be improving she had what seemed like a minor setback and then kinda gave up so i feel your pain brother!
Agree about our prospects for the season. Fingers crossed...cuz right now it all feels too good to be true.
cheers, and welcome aboard

My first away game as a young kid was Leeds away circa 1968.
I still remember the smell of fear. Elland Road really was a scary place to go in those days.
We got beat 1-0.Alan 'sniffer' Clark got the goal.

Evening everybody. I've been a City fan since birth, despite being born & raised in Shropshire, attended my first game in 1973 & cannot imagine my life without City in it.
Colin Bell is my all time hero, I miss Maine Road as if it was a relative & I will defend City & City fans with a passion.
There's nobody like us. Happy to be on here & looking forward to some good old fashioned banter/debate.
