It's already been quoted a month or so ago we have a "special" marquee signing this year, that statement to me is a £100m plus signing, Neymar would fit this bill.

Yes sorry should have mentioned Walker. Red hot favourites to get him. Fernandinho would be a back up but so would Fabinho if he comes. On the left Kolarov would be Mendy's back up I suppose as well as being a backup CB now and then. If Badstuber comes he can play left back.

If we've bid that much for Mbappe, we surely won't be in for Neymar, unless he's our back-up/second choice plan in the event that Real prevail in this contest. It'll certainly be interesting to see if the 'Pep effect' will outweigh the purported 'lure' of Spain and Madrid but I just hope this transfer battle doesn't drag on into the summer.

With regard to the Everton aspect JC, I don't know why anyone would want even one of them, let alone three. It's enough to cause anyone to shudder at the thought because, as the saying goes, 'a toffee a day makes you sick of toffees'.

Mike Ashley has a big fat wallet. Surely we can squeeze more out of them, or anyone else for that matter, than such a figure, which seems a somewhat paltry amount.

If that's all we can realistically hope to get for Mangala, it almost makes you think it would be better keeping him for another season to see if he could finally 'come good' with ourselves.
