http://football365.com/story/0,17033,86 ... 76,00.htmlWolfsburg insist they have not received a bid from Manchester City for highly-rated striker Edin Dzeko.
Dzeko has been the subject of heightened transfer talk lately after it emerged the frontman had a release clause in his contract should a fee be agreed.
An initial period for offers in the region of £35million was not met with any concrete advances, according to the club, but new reports have circulated suggesting City had tabled a bid.
City boss Roberto Mancini was said to be one of the early frontrunners to try and capture the Bosnia forward, who netted 22 goals last season in 34 appearances.
But managing director Dieter Hoeness says he has not received anything in the way of a bid since the deadline for an automatic release passed at midnight on Monday.
He told Deutsche Presseagentur: "There is no bid, we have received no offer. What we have received was an email, short, before the end of Monday.
"But that email was in a written form and with regard to its content in no way near anything we could and wanted to consider in this case.
"We have not changed our viewpoint on the future of Edin Dzeko, we want him to stay on."
Dzeko's contract at the Volkswagen Arena expires in June 2013, but a release clause in his deal means an agreed fee - offered before the end of May - would trigger his exit.
The 24-year-old has reportedly courted the interest of City's rivals Manchester U***d.
That's exactly how I felt when I read it. I hope to fuck it sin't, but it sounds damn like another botch job.
Why is it another botch job, where does it state that City have made an offer? Do the highlighted words state that City have made an offer, does it say the E-Mail is from our club? It's still all specualtion and rumour.
I have no doubts that we have made enquiries about Dzeko like we have with a few others, but at the same time I do not think he is our first choice. I also think that with him having interest from the likes of Milan and U***d then our team don't want to be seen as the patsie's again if the player himself decides on joining one of them.
I think the plan would be 'Lay the Seed', if you know what I mean.
what does it mean in Germany to "have an email" in "written form"?
im a stupid foreigner and all my email comes in electronical form.
Anyone?
cheers

The representative of Touré Yaya, Dimitri Seluk, will maintain a meeting with Txiki Begiristain today to negotiate the possible crossing from the native from Ivory Coast to the Manchester City.
According to RAC-1 informed last night, Seluk already has reached a total agreement with the set `citizen' and its intention is to ask to him the Barcelonist sport director who puts a price to him of exit. According to Dimitri Seluk, the sale price would have to go up to around 24 million - the double than it paid the Barça-, but the Barcelonist club account with the trick of the interest of Manchester U***d and Chelsea.

Yaya Toure's agent is set for showdown talks with Barcelona amid reports that the player has all but agreed a move to Manchester City.
Chelsea were thought to be the midfielder's preferred destination, but radio reports in Catalonia say the Ivory Coast international will instead team up with his brother Kolo at Eastlands if the clubs can agree a fee.
City are believed to be prepared to offer a better salary than Chelsea, who are trying to keep wages under control in their bid to become financially self sufficient.
Arsenal were also interested and would have considered a part-exchange as part of Barcelona's plan to sign Cesc Fabregas, but the Barca outcast is cool on going to the Emirates Stadium. Manchester United have also been linked.
Pep Guardiola does not want to lose the midfielder, but cannot guarantee him first-team football and will reluctantly sanction his sale for the right price.
Toure's agent Dimitri Selcuk is due at the Nou Camp for talks with technical secretary Txiki Begiristain before the weekend to thrash out a price which the Spanish champions would find acceptable.
City boss Roberto Mancini has been keen to sign a holding midfielder since the winter, when bids for Real Madrid's Fernando Gago and Parma's McDonald Mariga failed.
