Anybody else think that DeBruyne did not look like a happy bunny last night?

He did not cover, chase and close down like he does for us.
The body language between DeBruyne and Hazard did not look good.
Hazard waving his arms around and gesturing at passes from DeBruyne that did not reach him, etc...

didn't look as happy as he should have done when they scored the last minute winner

Hazard is a bit of a ....
Kevin didnt at all look too happy. He will be vital for us in what will be a more difficult season coming. So being a selfish sort I wanted Belgium to go out last night.
I suppose Friday will have to do.

We'll see what he does against Brazil. I hear you though.

I suspect Kev will be placed farther forward, perhaps and perhaps Fellani will come in for Carrasco.

I saw him chase and close a few times. I believe he won the ball back in a key moment with Japan threatening that created a decent chance.

Kev is not a natural Francophone, and the way that Belgium has such a unique makeup as a nation with language and cultural differences, plus knowing he has been outspoken about Martinez and I suspect not happy playing so deep, one can see why he may be a bit frustrated.

I can also see Hazard plausibly being a bit jealous that KDB got all these accolades this past season affecting their relationship, when Hazard was the clear cut star until now.

Not going to read too much into it, but I noticed him being a bit separate from the team at the end of the game. Hazard seemed a bit annoyed with Lukaku's "team talk" at the end as well to be honest.

Those bloody Swede's, do I collect the sweepstake trophy now?

Just got to see who they play now and if I had a choice of Switzerland or Sweden in the next round, I'd have preferred Sweden.

I'm getting more and more pissed off by this the more I see of this game. We can beat both of this teams if we have a good day.

Sweden are very poor but they will be well organised and very hard to beat, better keep practicing those penalties.

And then there were eleven left:

Code: Select all
                  Ederson
       Walker     Kompany      Stones
Danilo          Fernandhino         Mendy
        De Bruyne              Delph
             Sterling       Jesus

Not our bext XI but they'd give any team there a run for their money.

With us having the most players at the WC in general and now having the most remaining at the quarterfinals stage I am a little worried about the beginning of the season. Ederson will be okay but the remainder of our “best eleven” are likely to be tired. Thankfully Mendy isnt playing much and Aguero, Silva, and Bernardo are already out and *should* be okay to join Sane on opening weekend.

We should still be able to put out a decent side in the Community Shield. Better than against the Arse after the last World cup.

I take back what I said about fielding a decent side in the Community Shield - Bernardo certainly can't act as a wing back. Sane should be able to do the role but has been awful when tried as a wing back in the past.
