I don't think it has as much bite as a De Jong/Zabaleta pairing, but both of them are fairly balanced players who can drive from deep and Yaya is not a complete muppet when it comes to passing range as well.

it's nice versatility to offer as well. by the end of summer we're going to have the best "assembled" team in the Prem i think. Crazy talk. i believe it.
cheers

If Yaya is coming, then surely we will still need a creative midfielder, won't we, or do we just play the same old back 6?

I'd say yes. I was hoping we'd have made an offer for Hamsik by now.

Mancini came out and said he wouldn't be interested in Hamsik, so guessing not.

I'm not sure about Yaya, but I'm pretty sure we're in for a far more creative player who can turrn the play from defence into attack. Milner for me is a right sided Barry, Yaya is a more passing de Jong, and none of them make up for what we are missing.

Any ideas why Boatang has gone public to say he is signing for us before the World Cup? The Club have said nothing, so far.

As far as I know, Yaya Toure is much more than a defensive midfielder. I think that was more the position required of him whilst at Barca but he showed far more versatility at Monaco.

There's a strong chance it could be Arsenal - the conspiracy theorist in me thinks Fabregas has pretty much been sold, with all the talk from them at the moment being a smokescreen to give him a relatively peaceful World Cup

could possibly be Arsenal as part of the Cesc deal.
still think it's us though.
Berbatov wins golden boot, spends following season on the bench while his team loses title on goal difference. Well played, Fergie.

Could be Chelsea, could be Arsenal, could be us...
The question is... assuming the price quoted is correct... would Chelsea really spend that much money on a player?
And if it was Arsenal , why mention that 36m Euros?
I don't want to say it out loud but I actually think we are the most likely destination.

http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/article? ... Id=1956242Figures really, if Mourinho comes calling he is bound to go to RM.
Never mind......we only like one type of Brazilian anyway!

I wish we would sign Lahm or that he even was a remote possibility... scored a beauty against Bosnia today.

Hmm if it is us I still wonder why since we got 3 players that play that position already. We need a more attack minded player really but whatever I'm sure the manager knows what's best for the club if it is us. I just hope we get at least 1 attacking player in this window.
