How long for though???

Carry on like we are doing and we will scrape 7th.

hard to say about future but at least it's in our own hands now.

I thought this was the aim?

we have to beat Scouse (for the 1st time since 2003) to stay fourth for more than 5 days, that's not the kind of "in our hands" I like.
We've been fourth with a game in hand before and that didn't prove lasting.
I've defended a lot of draws this season against teams like Stoke (although ironically not Stoke), so I'm not about to take the piss, but who honestly honestly thinks we are "on the right trajectory"?

Hmmm...I'm not saying we are playing great...we are not...what I am saying is that DESPITE us playing pretty shit...we are right up there above teams like Spurs who play lovely football...there are a lot of good teams behind us

I just think we need a little perspective here

Noone likes watching dross football...I'd include myself in that...but at the same time we will not always play crap this season

The very fact that we are there or thereabouts is a very positive sign...nothing is certain in this game...but if we hit a run of good form/Mancini gets his tinkering right, then we are still in a strong position to take advantage

Granted it could go the other way...however...no matter what...we will finish above where we did last season

I just can't help but think a lot of you are acting like spoilt kids

And it is increasingly frustrating that you couldn't be further from the truth in that mate. I am just increasingly worried that this, potentially brilliant season is seriously in danger of going tits up. I'm not stamping my feet and saying "i want us to be amazing, we are the richest most massive club in the world an I demand immediate success"...I just don't want us to nause it up. And I am not seeing anything to comfort me that we look sure to be able to steer through the tough fixtures ahead. We look worse, not better.

There are loads of positives you can take which I've just posted about on another thread. But that is where I am coming from.

We are wank ive seen it with my own eyes, week in week out home and away god knows how much cash down.

I'm not happy at the way we are playing,we have scrapped into 4th playing god awful just think if we had the right tactics and the right attitude we would walk winning the league.

Our day out in London to finally get rid of the monkey was royally fucked up aswell and the second trip is looking increasing unlikely.

I'm happy to be in the top 4, we got a point in one of our games in hand, not the ideal scenario but I think most of us would have been happy with a point at stoke at the beginning of the season, that shouldn't change now.
A point might make all the difference come May

Just like to get something off my chest.

STOKE ARE FUCKING SHITE.

We should be playing them off the fucking field. The quality in our squad is faaaaaaaaar superior to theirs.
We fucked up. a point is shite.
We should be laughing our way into the champs league now.....

Can we lift the performances against Pool and Chelski?

I was livid last night not with the result but with the team performance,we defended well but offered
absolutely nothing as an attacking threat.

A point however was a good result they have a great home record w8 l3 d3 this season and its going to be difficult again in the cup.It just grates on me that city did not create many chances against them.I think the tactics will have to change in the cup replay, lets treat it like a proper cup fixture and have a real go at them not another defensive minded formation.

On your question about lifting performance levels Against chelsea/liverpool,funnily enough it would not surprise me to see a completely different city to the one we have seen against Hull and Stoke recently. We just seem to struggle with the so called weaker teams.I think its a mental hurdle city need to overcome as a team if they are going to break the vice like grip the sky 4 have had over the champions league places.

This is what I think - we are going deeper into a shell - fuck it 'unleash the dogs...' we should be stretching teams like Stoke all over the place creating space all over the place - we are playing into the strengths of the limited strategies of these teams

We've been fourth a few times this season, but previous times we played attacking and most often entertaining football to get there and not this pile of shite "Blackburn style" football.

But that is the irony - we look a lot more like Blackburn than we ever did previously - this is not the sort of football that was printed on the 'Mancini tin' by all the evangelists - hope that it changes - I just cannot see what will spark that change though - it is not just Bellers/Tevez being out - this is about how the manager sets things up

The meaning of 'tagging' as in tag team (wrestling) where two partners operate together and they 'tag' each other when they take over from each other - just intended as a humorous recognition of you picking up NQDP after I have bowed out - I obviously failed

I was apopleptic with rage when I logged on last night

I'd just smashed a chair in the boozer and had to be pulled apart from some fucking dick who'd been winding me up all match.

Still angry....good job I have to work today as I'd be at home murdering small animals or something otherwise

THE DROPPED POINTS LEAGUE

Chelsea.......dropped 20pts
the rags......dropped 21pts.
Arsenal.......dropped 26pts.
CITY..........dropped 30pts.
Villa...........dropped 33pts
L'Pool.........dropped 34pts
Spurs.........dropped 34pts.

Thanks for the nudge Zurich but I found last night so frustrating. I didn't see it as a point gained but a massive opportunity lost. My point is that instead of celebrating reaching 4th was, that we were ALREADY THERE. IT WAS AREADY WITHIN OUR GRASP.
In the last 6 games, Arsenal have dropped 10pts and last night was our chance to get within 2pts of them, create pressure on them and start the challenge for 3rd. In that respect. we FAILED.
It was also a chance to create a gap between us and the chasing pack. A win last night would have given us a gap of 5pts ahead of Villa and 6pts ahead of L'Pool and Spurs. It would have been an excellent platform from which to begin the final run in. In that respect we also FAILED.

Bingo is right, Stoke are not a good side, they are good at shit football and if we have ambition to consolidate our position as a top side, we MUST be seeing those type of teams off and beating them.

Maybe the most disappointing of all was the manner in which we were outplayed by Stoke. We were forced to resort to stopping them by giving away a continuous stream of fowls. At no point in the game did we STAMP our authority on the game, even when they had only 10 men. We seem to be content to give the initiative to our opponents and then react to their strategies.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT
