Does anyone think that he wouldn't want to put one over the scum? Re-signing Johnny Macken seems a priority.
Does anyone think he is going to achieve this with Liverpool? Right, good reason to sign a guy, cause he can't do it where he is, Titus Bramble can't win the league with Wigan, quick get him in.
I am sure you have reasons for wanting him, but jesus if I had posted in reverse that I am sure even SoF would have torn it to pieces.
Well done Slim, trying to make your argument sound better by using far inferior players; a masterstroke. Unless you believe those players are of the same ilk?
Actually they were your reasons, I don't think signing a player who wants the title, put one over the scum or not being able to achieve it with his current team are anywhere near valid reasons and the use of inferior players was done to illustrate that.
I swear sometimes the lack of being able to think things through is a fucking motto around here, maybe we should get the mods to add that to the forum rules.

Gerrard at the right price is an upgrade for nearly any team and to dismiss a player of his calibre for either footballing or business reasons is foolhardy in my book. Not that I agree with giving Liverpool 40 mil or us buying a near 30 year old player for a price anywhere near that, but someone like Gerrard, and a couple of players in key positions, would give us a real shot at the league.

OK, let's play your game as I am surely too far behind the curve to think things through. You took 3 questions that I asked in relation to Steven Gerrard and the player that he undoubtedly is. Let's look at the original post:Beefymcfc wrote:Guess what's missing from Gerrard's cabinet, apart from the World Cup that he can win this year:

Firstly, by asking what's missing, you will notice that the whole premise of my post was to highlight that he hasn't won the League, which of course you know. I then go on to say he won't achieve that with Liverpool and if he did decide to come to us to better his chances, then he could also get one over his so called arch rivals, let's not forget, they are his Derby game, but once again you probably know that. To finish, I give valid reasons why I (That's me you know!) would want him at our club. Now was that 'Not thinking it through' or was it that you decided if you cannot discuss, you'll attack it instead?
At no point have I attacked any of your posts on this subject or, got personal about your thought process, but somehow you feel the need to attack and insult my opinion and me personally. Why is that, wasn't you're opionion on the subject strong enough?

Most of that first paragraph is just restating the same thing, SO FUCKING WHAT. Peter Crouch is a City fan, I am sure all those reasons apply to him as well, it's not a reason to sign someone, it's certainly not three reasons. I think ALL players are hungry for a league title, I want players who want to play for CITY and win the league, not one who thinks joining us is a way of pissing off another club, and as for not being able to achieve it with Liverpool...well, that's a reason to sign a Fulham player or an Everton player, not a Liverpool player given the backing they have had over the last decade. At no point have I attacked any of your posts on this subject or, got personal about your thought process, but somehow you feel the need to attack and insult my opinion and me personally. Yes, call someone a fool and then cry victim? The fact I did it to YOU personally is because I am not some sort of pussy who makes blanket comments and then uses semantics or excuses to assume that didn't apply to specific posters.
As for going back over and over again the reasons, the thread is six pages long and I have probably posted on every page, if you don't know my reasons by now, well that's on you, not me.
