Richard Keys & Andy Gray Suspended By SkySports

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

End of the day, does anybody actually tune it to a live footy broadcast just because of who the presenter or commentator is?

Of course they dont. Thats why loads of people watch illegal live feeds with foreign commentary each week in pubs or on laptops - nobody gives a stuff who's in the studio, or who's sat alongside Martin Tyler et al. Its the game thats the thing, not the views of some half-baked ex-pro that everyone thinks is a prat anyway (Gray), or a smirking, smug looking frontman like Keys who has as much insight to offer on the game as our pet labrador.

Its about time we got back to football, instead of the news filled with page after page about these two nonentities in Keys and Gray. Ill stick my neck out and suggest that somehow, someway the football watching world will get without them.

It was just bloke banter that you hear so often in the pub etc and Andi, before you jump on me, we've had it between yourself and I numerous times, although I accept not to the extreme that they went to. Gray was asked these questions and it was recorded. Blatently a trap as an excuse to get rid IMO. Same with Keys.
Queue now the Daily Mail reporting numerous cheif exec's of large organisations etc getting sacked for asking their secretary for a brew and stuff.
Don't get me wrong, I thought these two were a pair of cunts anyway, and could possibly be the reason why they were set up in this way, but if you can't see they were joking, without malice, then you're a blind fucker.

Danny, i really get the banter thing and you know as do a lot of the lads that know me at football that i can give and take as much as the next person but that on Saturday was not banter. Listen again to the tone in their voices, no sign of laughing or ribbing one another. I understand if that’s their opinion on the matter and that’s fine but at the end of the day the pair were both at work, on the clock sat in a studio mic up. I have lots of opinions on lots of things about my work for instance but i would not air them in the work place and if i did and offend someone i would take what was coming to me.

They passed judgment on Sian Massey purely on the basis that she was a female and that is wrong, if they would have said the same about an Asian lino for instance would you still say it was banter?? I agree in the fact that someone defo had it in for the pair and things have escalated way over the top with more and more things coming out in the press but my thoughts on the initial incident are that they were bang out of order in what they said.

I must be a blind fucker then, cos if you are talking about their comments on the lineswoman then the tone was not banter. It was just letting out their prejudice.

I think your point is that there is nothing wrong in a bit of banter.. and you would have to be a bit sad not to agree. I'm pretty sure that any banter you have with the Sis is on a level of mutual respect basically... you give it out, you get it back. But banter can go wrong and basically it is down to the wit of those involved. These two arrogant knobs at Sky you can imagine get it wrong all the time.. especially with younger women because they are both probably completely out of touch.
Blokes having a bit of a banter is usually fine, but get someone who is a bit of knob and it can go wrong and handbags starts or someone gets knarky. The same can happen throwing banter around with women, if the respect isn't there to start with then the whole thing is on a limited wicket.
If anything this whole episode just shows what knobs older blokes can be, out of touch and trying to make up for it by pretending they think they know whats going on, and too thick to realise they dont.

If they treat women badly at their workplace then they deserve to be sacked, no question. To be sacked because they had the wrong tone of voice on some off camera remarks however, is fucking ridiculous & if a similar thing happened to a woman for talking about them, people would be backing her.

The trouble with PC gone mad is that people are willing to use any kind of sickening methods to enforce it, provided the end result falls in with their point of view. Nobody stops to think how, if you allow this kind of infringement of people's privacy to be used against them, it can be used in totally the opposite way to bring about very undesireable results indeed.

It isn't about PC though, BobKowalski has got it nail on head, 100% spot on. The two outdated out of touch old gits have been on borrowed time for ages.. they would have fucled up anyway at some point.. and then oh.. everybody hates them what a surprise.

As for the PC brigade they will jump on anything that suits their agenda.. basically in some vain attempt to dislodge whatever it is they have stuck up their arse. I suppose someone has to state the PC guidelines, so that the rest of us have to consider it for a mo and then think.. nah.. thats typical of someone who has something stuck up their arse and it shows just as much arrogance as the arrogant cunt they were holier than thou'ing about.

I honestly believe that Keys could have saved himself, but unfortunately the two brain cells he posseses.. one that monitors the reality out there, and the other that is all about me, Me, ME are tragically unable to communicate with each other.

Maybe it is a Northern thing but as I see I say, I have had to appologise in the past hands up, There does seem to a lot of wankers who try and befriend the ladies with the I understand, All along can i feel yer tits merchants, bollocks life has not changed that much It is just some feel being P.C is cool, when that is there way of striking back after being a total waster for previous yrs. Abuse of anyone is crap, but worse is going on in fact so far worse this is nothing in the big wide fucked up world. I mean City had all the ball Saturday night ! and did not score that is a bigger drama to me than this pile of shite.
