Carl if you were half literate you'd have understood that I wasn't defending Balotelli.

That can hardly be laid at Mancini's door though ...... and if you ARE trying to lay it there then you are totally wrong imo.

Not at all, I think Mancini is totally correct in what he did. I would have done exactly the same.

Cool

Sorry mate, misread you obviously :-)

But I don't see how you can say that Mancini made the right choice? He fueled this nonsense. Take him off at half time, play it down in the media & hang him by the balls for all I care, but do it internally ffs.

Not impressed.

Mancini was spot on ..Ballo does whatever the fuck he wants to do and he needed to be slapped there and fucking then...which Mancini did.

Sometimes you have to make a point......players who are set to join us would have taken note that our manager is not to be fucked with.

Ballo is a fucking timebomb and I have tried defending him in the past but for fucks sakeeeeeeeeee- did you not watch the match against Vancouver? he would have got a straight red for the lung he did on one player if he did that in the prem....

The guys a fucking nob up to now....he is the one to convince fans like me hes on the straight and narrow and not for me to keep supporting his shit actions and/or making excuses for them.

Maybe because Henry had already scored the thick end of 30+ goals that season?

If Balotelli doesn't buck his ideas up I doubt he'll score 30+ in his entire City career.

He thought he was offside, so he was dicking about. The game didn't matter. No harm was done. An overreaction from Bob in my book.

I think he probably had the wrong idea about the match atmosphere. He probably thought in his own mind that was what the fans wanted to see and it surprised him when Mancini took him off. The fans had a right to boo, he was disrespectful on their own pitch. I do think Mancini overrated though.

Corrected for you...and I agree.

But if we are waiting for Balo to be anything less than he is, we are in for a LONG LONG wait.

Maybe the Balo thing is all about opinions. Mancini, is doing his level best to be fair to everyone, think about the squad, SWP for example must be grafting his tits off to win a place in the 25, knowing full well if he did that the door would be shut. Balo is in a squad not the Balo world where tbh it is all a little fucked up.

irrespective of what fans, media etc think of the Mario incident or Mancini's reaction to it probably the most important people to consider are Mario's team mates and their views which judging by the way they reacted at the time and de Jong's comments in the media they were less than impressed.

If we look at it from a team perspective then the immediate response from Mancini seems to have been the correct call. Letting it slide would have sent out the wrong message to the group with Mario rightly or wrongly seen to be getting favourable treatment. Mario getting hauled off in a sudden and somewhat brutal manner sends a clear message that even Mancini's chosen one will get it in the neck if players start putting themselves before the good of the group.

In retrospect Mancini's reaction rather than the incident that sparked it may prove to be the most important aspect of this affair. Lets hope so anyway.

By the sounds of some of the comments on this thread a few people sound as if they want to applaud Bobby for blowing up a situation that could have been handled less publically, making a mountain out of a molehill, disgracing and humiliating a young man, pissing of a talent that he himself has nurtured and is trying to develop. He has also shown a two faced side of his nature by behaving the way he has.
I think Bobby needs to privately eat a bit of humble pie.

Bollox, sometimes situations present themselves and they need to be handled there and then. Balotelli will be left in no doubt that Mancini is not pandering to his eccentricity and expects him to play the game with 100% commitment and professionalism.

I am not a balo basher and actually welcome what he brings to the party. However, we need someone VERY strong at the helm and Mancini went up in my estimation after this weekend. Well done to him.

Beckham is defending Mario now...

"I have watched it back a few times and from his mannerisms I believe he thought he was offside," said the former England skipper.
"Mario has been a great player for quite a few years and he is still very young. He will continue to get better I am sure."

i think mancini overreacted a bit ... that being said, balotelli forced his hand by doing something dumb.

i think the whole thing is being blown up by the media/opposing fans, who have a very obvious agenda of seeing us fail. I think mancini will have dealt with this 'the right way' and by that I mean the way that works with balotelli, in mancini's experience.

Players/Managers are going to react on the pitch ... a lot of times it is aggressive/passionate and we saw that from bobby and balotelli when he was pulled off. But one thing I can't fault Balotelli for is that he has never run to the press to air out his grievances, he stays quiet and says the right things. If I am not mistaken, he has also praised Mancini as a coach and for the way bobby handles him. That isn't going to change because of this. Bobby was asked about it later in the press and I think did a good job of saying it was handled and underlining that that was the end. And that's that for me. we'll see what happens.

My boss told me laughing his 13 year old had already given it a go at training yesterday.

Also, I bet that Northern Irish feller could repeat that three million times and never get it right again. Class class goal nevertheless.

LOL I reckon he should have beaten Altintop to the top prize. Altintop saw it all the way to volley it, great goal ,but the irish lads was a once in a lifetime goal.
