I'm not a fan of him tbh but if he wasn't doing his job the Sheikh would have got rid long before now. I appreciate expectation levels but a touch of realism is needed at the moment before most of us adopt this raglike mentality ... it's pointless signing players just for the hell of it, I'd rather we just wait and sign the right players for the club, which appears to be the case at the mo
You should have been very much, well and broadly sidetracked in the last 14 months because:
a) I for one, whether I am anyone/thing or not, was already complaining since when, last summer window, he was able to waste so much time to let Barca jumping onto Alexis Sanchez, while "Mankini" had clearly requested to the board purchase of him at latest by early april.
the practice to identify major targets for the streghtening campaing well in advance the transfer window opens is very common in the Italian top Clubs practice, as well as in the practice of pretty almost other member of G14 Elite, so that the first day the window opens deals are already done and just need paperworks.
Whether You and Marwood do know it or not, it's called taking advantage from market intelligence and Club's influence.
b) every day after the seasons ends the Manager pay a visit to the Owner, along with the Chairman: in this summit they use to revise strenght and weakness of the team, identify options to sort them out, weighing pros and cons, then they agree few targets, probably including option a) and option b) for each position to be covered and, then, the target/s are submitted to the attention, care and action of the presumed sporting director.
c) I see, understand and consider the plan to write off an important part of losses for FFP sake, but I VERY VERY MUCH doubt that, the HUGE increase of income generated by Mancini leading the Club to the world's most prestigious League title has not taken into account by the Owner and Chairman of the world's richest football club and has not considered fit enough to financing a couple of very aimed and needed signign.
Otherwise, if I am wrong and the Manager was told to shut up and work with the huge technical wealth he already has only, I doubt very much he would have signed such a committing extension of contract and face the pressure and expectations of Fans and Media worldwide in order to deliver futher major honours (including UCL) in the close forthcomings.
d) the FACTS that each and every deal which involves MCFC automatically turns overboards of the usual market values because it's MCFC - the richest money bag - it's just a false myth partly generated by the pro Big 14 media hype. But the SAD REALITY is that its 90 % down to the facts that, once Owner and Chairman have agreed and SANCTIONED a market strategy upon the manager's requests, that strategy is executed by a clueless sporting director, with no qualication, no experience, no introduction and questianable attitude towards negotiations.
IF CITY had a
senior sporting director in charge, each and every deal would have been and will be sorted in an heartbeat after the Chairman had turned down the phone. FAILING TO SEE THIS ASTONISHING EVIDENCE is the only evidence of stupidity, dear Chinners!
IN KHALDOON I TRUST, as well as any other Marwood lickers, and I always stated that foom day one.
