So many players have one good season though.

He also had an excellent season last season with Rayo Vallecano (think he scored 18 goals) as well. He possesses great technical ability which leads me to believe that he isn't a flash in the pan/one season wonder. Reckon he could be ours for about £18m - there's no way Swansea would be able to turn down that kind of money

No its not that kind of player one season u can see quality in him, dont know hes injury risk , had he have in carear and yes he might cost us lets say Swensea ask 25 we give them Sinclar back and 15, i m more for that then for some 50 mil players with 250000 a year , because he had more goals in some other league and because media pump up those names.Or at list if we going to buy one of those second should be Michu. So we would have let say Aguero, Michu ,one of big names and Swedish guy will finally recover.I would like that spear.

these two are 18 and 19 years old, so more cutting of cloth going on?

I think there will only be one big summer signing, but a few leaving.

A striker I'm guessing if Tevez and Dzeko go and Balo already gone.
He will then fill the squad with a mixture of youth and decent players from abroad.
I want Isco and Cavani. Anybody else would just be a bonus.

Building for the future for sure, we won the title ahead of schedule and now they are looking to the longer term again. People forget that they accelerated the spending for ffp, we have passed the end of the acceleration period now and will be consolidating and looking at the longer term. No way will we be paying big money for players like Michu, he will be too old at 27 for our project. They will only pay big money now for players that can be sold on at a reasonable percentage of cost after 3/4 years, not players that will be over 30.

Again fullback , we have problems in our midfield ,our strikers and midfield players don't scores enough goals , we have 3 players in top 46 scorers , we have DM slow and not good enough and one place i m pleased is with fullbacks this season but they need to learn to cross ffs and hit somebody in box.So we will buy that even do we have Zabba ,Clichy, Richards is coming back, i like how Rekik play in that position . Strange , why not try for once buy a winger or DM who can defend and pass and have some pace in him.

Ok , i dont make a habit of knocking ANY City players , the last 3 or so seasons have been heaven sent for us long suffering blues fans , it has been truely awesome and still is even if this season has been a damp squib in many ways. We are still however 2nd in the premier league and still in the FA cup approaching springtime ...... many many of us would still have given our right arms for this situation a decade or longer ago , absolutely ! However there is without doubt a need to get the comming summers transfer policy 100% RIGHT.

Some players need to be shifted out and we may even lose one or two STAR players to the likes of Barcelona or Madrid , i hope not but it is a possibility so and this is just my opinion .....

Striker ...... Falcao and Cavani , we MUST sign one of these players.

Midfield ...... We need some pace and flair and more goals from this area , Gareth Bale fits the bill perfectly.

Defence ...... Kolo and Joleon seem to be on there way out , Subotic keeps being mentioned from many quarters, top top player and again he should be one of our top targets.

£20 million in the bank already for Mario ,possible £15 million for Nasri ? This summer is going to be the most important period in the history of MCFC,s future success imho.
Not really here

We have always been planning for the longer term to use the academy/young players strategy since day one.

Khaldoon was much more interested in that side of things whilst everyone else was worried about signing people like Robinho & Berbatov. He sent Marwood & Co around the world to learn all about how people in various sports produce top quality performers & design & build the best system for us to do the same & set about reorganising our ageing system at the same time.

It has nothing to do with winning the Premier League ahead of schedule.

And get rid of one or two less than amazing ones to make space for them, hopefully.

The ahead of schedule bit was referring to our accelerated spending caused by ffp, my point is that that period is now OVER. Winning the league in that period was a bonus as far as the plans were concerned.

Oh I'm sure they didn't bank on winning the Prem, but they will have expected to qualify for the latter stages of the Champions League both seasons, & thus probably realise some more big signings are needed short term, not just young players. I agree Michu is likely to be overpriced & not of interest but I'll be surprised if we don't buy a couple of biggish names.

We effectively let all the top people involved in transfers leave the club before the window opened last season, making way for Soriano & Tricky, so had little intention of doing much aprt from the obvious ones imo.Now we have got shot of Balotelli, so we will have space in the squad for some new top quality players if we let a couple more soso players & contract enders go.

We have the suits in place now & are in a position to go for a couple of stars, to have a better crack at the Champions League. Whether that strategy involves Bob, we have yet to find out, but I hope it does.

Both of you are referring to a plan. Where is this plan or the concrete quotes and actions that outline it?
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

There are a million quotes & £200 million quid's worth of action on the academy & plans as well as 'off the record' stuff fed to journos.

It's all out there.

I can't be arsed trawling through hours of interviews & articles to find it.

I can understand that you don't want to bother. I wouldn't either. I wasn't asking for that reason either but rather because both of you are basing your arguments on the plan / the project and the discussion, which is very interesting, seems unlikely to evolve without some concrete stuff.

So... it wasn't a dig, it was a question intended to bring some clarification.

I wasn't taking it as a dig, just saying that it's too much trouble to correlate all the information as, for instance, a lot of it I have picked up on comes from comments from people like Khaldoon etc when the subject of the inteview could be something entirely different, but he drops in a few lines which are really very important indeed; the journo's & fans just ignore it completely because they are all interested in whether we're about to sign Kaka etc, so it just whistles over everyone's heads.

To add, there are even elements of stuff in the current planning which go back to the days of Thaksin etc; ideas he or Cook had which the new bosses must have thought were good & expanded upon.
