With a CL final up for grabs no player should have needed any extra incentive.

Their league has led the unscrupulous fight, relentlessly attacking our club from the very top of an unscrupulous league. Their clubs are ageing and are in serious trouble with regard to rebuilding due to massive debt and the lack of match day revenue.

Tebas, the fat slug, should have been sanctioned under FIFA/UEFA rules but nobody gave a fuck. Now, nor should we.

Would have been a different score if Messi had played.

Hey fellas, slow down and think .

Bayern players were on holiday two weeks ago.

They come back and destroy Barca ( albeit an absolutely awful team).

Be pleased. Their tails are up ! should get our mindset right.

Now we know what is going on with Bayern ( or they are taking tablets ! )

Nuff said, but Barca were awful.

Cheeky bid for Messi ?

To be fair, we should very much be focussed as we don’t have the distraction of 2 other cups at this (normal) time of year.

As for Messi, it’s obvious that he is lost within their set-up. Short-term’ism ro bring him into ours, and definitely not worth a punt. We’ve got by (with all those trophies) by bringing in quality players that nobody else has really been in for.

My thoughts - how can a elite competition end with such a humiliating defeat 8-2 sounds like a non league team v premier team

One of the times Scouse2 won the old version. They actually got a Bye in the first round - meeting the mighty FCZ in the semi.finals - eight games to the final !!

Bayern came too early, big mistake.

With you o n this mate in Spain at moment and saw an interview today from a director at Celta here and he refused to condemn Tebas over the recent covid incident in Galicia.
You reap what you sow and in the current climate, it could be a long time before Spains teams are za force in Europe - Sevilla aside.......

I'm I alone here thinking; I'm confident we can beat the German rags if we have to face them (not over looking Lyon) they tend to struggle against top English teams. Ok forget chavs as they're work in progress and spuds are just shite.

They are a decent team who dismantled a poor Farca team last night. I'd like to think that we would also have put them to the sword but doubt Pep would not have put our brakes on at half time.
We will see how Boateng and co. gets on having a forward three who harass them all the time should we get past Lyon first

Why anyone would want to go to them now is beyond me. Messi is coming to the end of his career and is irreplaceable. He’s saved them millions of times. Griezmann made a big fuck up joining them. They’ve wasted millions on average players over the last few years because they’re that desperate.

They have a massive rebuild ahead of them. Agree on Garcia, why oh why would you want to go there at this point? He will get plenty of practice defending that's for sure their front three are not interested unless the bdll is in the final third and I've always though Vidsl was way over-rated
Anyway, fuck 'em they are only Spanish when it suits them and along with Franco's boys, they have lorded it over Spanish football much the same as the german rags and the rest of the old G14

I saw part of the first half and Barcelona reminded me of City with Kinkladze. They all just gave him the ball and stood around waiting for some magic instead of taking responsibility and driving the team forward themselves. (I don't include Kevin Horlock in the City part of this as he at least tried)

I have never liked Barcelona much (unless they were beating the filth) so hard shit to them. Trouble is I really can't stand the other lot.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

Agreed. I meant mostly after they were behind 2-3 goals so rapidly.

They seemed shell shocked, but I also think there's not as much motivation when you know it's over and probably want the manager and perhaps the board to go as Pique seemed to imply.

Also something to consider is there is only 1 leg so no hope of coming back.

Mostly it's the mentality and makeup of the team more than anything, but thought these could be factors as well that contributed.

By the end it reminded me of the 8-0 drubbing at Boro under Sven when everyone knew he was going and just wanted the season to be over.

This refs diabolical. Greenwood must have something on him. Commits a foul, has a kick at the ball while the player is down. Seville player grabs the ball and gets penalised. A couple of minutes later Greenwood and a Seville player racing after the ball, Greenwood leans in to stick his arm across, Seville player slows because he sees it coming so Greenwood goes flying across as he’s tried to lean on thin air, trips himself up and gets another free kick.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.
