Pep wouldn't play this starting 11 against Bayern. As I said previously in this thread, City don't have time to try things out in training, so I get why Pep does it in a game like this. He's been prove right too.

The concern is though why is he trying out something new. If its the obsession with the cl and trying out something new there, then we will be out at the quarter finals again, no matter who we get.

No problem with Sergio, Mendy, Torres and Laporte, they should have been used more recently, it's bringing in players who are not match sharp and putting them into a system we haven't used before

Nool, if you don’t think he’d do something like this against Bayern then you’ve not been following City the past five years!

He might try a daft formation, but no way that he would bench Sterling, KDB, and Gundo.

Don't get your knickers in a twist. It certainly comes up every match thread, and I thought it was you saying it.

I’ve barely posted in the last few match threads as I’ve had COVID for the last 12 days.

I remember about 3 seasons ago when Pep said Jesus and Sergio can only play upfront together when we have 2 proper fullbacks playing. Mendy and Walker as it was back then. Mendy got injured and that was that. Until now.

I don’t like the idea of this formation. I might have it’s uses but please not in the Champions League.

Yeah I’m fine now. Just nearly two weeks of staying in bed (hence the Derby loss felt even worse as I was literally lay there unable to go anywhere with four walls I wanted to headbutt). I’m assuming I only got a mild version as I’ve heard people have had it far worse.
