Pep Guardiola wants League Cup to be scrapped to ease fixture congestion
- Manchester City manager says schedule is causing injuries
- ‘Less games, less competitions, more quality, less quantity’
At least when he plays in it though he treats it with respect and does his utmost to win it (usually successfully).
Managers moan saying it shouldn't be for teams from the top flight - if you don't like it just play your U23s and shut up moaning
Absolutely.
Moyes and Klopp crying about the fixture pile up because they have rarely had this many games. They knew the score in August. If you want to win cup trophies you have to play more games. And that might involve replays and rearranging fixtures to have more congestion later in the season. We've been remarkably successful in going deep in all three cups over the last few years. We've won a good number and been unlucky in others. That's the battle and nature of the game
But one thing we as a club have done is not moan, gave it our all and just got on with it. To win trophies you have to push yourself and go the hard yards. I have zero sympathy for a club in a semi final moaning about it
