Wooders wrote:I wanna know how many la liga games the people who reckon yaya is over-rated actually watch - he's a fucking good solid defensive midfielder who can also play the box to box role perfectly well - an excellent foil for Barry imo
Silva on the other hand flatters to decieve quite often and I don't think he'll make it in the prem - I'd prefer Joe Cole
Also him fucking off in 3 years, he'll be 30 then, so thats about right !

well i have mentioned a few times that i am not keen on Yaya, from what i have seen of him this season with Barca. I tend to watch a lot of Barca games due to living here.. but i am not a fan of Barca so i dont watch with rose tinted glasses.

What i do realise though is that he has played DM for Barca and that might not be his best role. Those that watched Monaco say he was very good as an attacking mid, so to be fair to the lad i will just have to wait and see.
My take on how he has been at Barca.. is basically solid enough defensively, but very often when trying to take part in more intricate forward passing as they like to do, he quite often seemed off the pace in term of thinking and looking a bit lost, so ending up misplacing key passes or slowing things down or not reading the intentions of his team mates. Basically he didnt seem to quite fit in. But again to be fair to him that may be as much due to Barca's one mode of play they are all drilled in and expert at, that he had to drop into. Put him in another team and it may well be a totally different story.
I would give him the benefit of that doubt, cos otherwise i think i would be being unfair.

personally the main thing i want to see is a top top attacking mid. It is the main thing that we are missing to go from an interesting and fairly dangerous team, to real challengers for the top 3 places. i know we have other weaknesses, but non so telling as the big hole in front of the midfield.

As for strikers.. i am with Mancini, i think Ade will have a storming season.. im rekoning that he did a lot of growing up and maturing with the reality check he got last season, and i think he will be a man on a mission from day 1.

We could do with cover though thats for sure.. but that can be a different category of player.. young, fit and keen would be ideal.

he'll allow barry to go deeper, unlike de jong - and is probably a better bet than gago, who I would also be up for should the toure deal fall flat - which is now looking unlikely in my opinion

Thought I'd throw out a new topic to get off the Toure debate.....

http://www.givemefootball.com/premier-l ... ca-starlet

Haven't heard about this kid before, Guy Assulin, supposed to be an Israeli Messi-clone.
(In size only I am sure.) But, who knows??

Wenger is high on him and seems to be biting on the leash, since Barca have more talent
than they know what to do with.

It's worth a bite....

Don't think so. He is bald.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Heard he's moving to the Middle East - maybe the Sheikh's trying to tap him up. (Also, people need to take a joint sabbatical on the bald, defensive midfielder thing).

Yaya to Chelsea is my bet.

Since we havn't announced our other signing yet I think this is us also we are keeping all our signings under wraps for some reason. The fact the Boateng signing is so secretive ads salt to this being us IMO. We probably wanna announce all our signings together in our new kit or something??

I personally thought he should have been given POTY instead of Tevez! I think it might have been fixed ;-)
