Who does he play for mate? RB then I take it?

PSG, where to be frank, there have been some unsavoury issues with his conduct and he was recently refused entry to the UK because of a criminal conviction. He is as described above in terms of ability, outstanding in all footballing departments and significantly younger than Walker.

Manchester City have won the race for Virgil van Dijk (25) who will join from Southampton for £60m when the window opens. [Sunday People]
Van Dijk will become the world's most expensive defender when he joins City, signing a 5-year deal worth £200,000-a-week. [Sunday People]

I fear a period of adjustment may be required NBnottsblue wrote:phips wrote:Manchester City have won the race for Virgil van Dijk (25) who will join from Southampton for £60m when the window opens. [Sunday People]

With Mendy coming in as first choice LB that leaves Kolarov staying purely as back up LB where he's frankly not very convincing. Might be sold after all? Or will Otamendi go?

For a centre half to be a top quality proposition Bob, I think he needs to be considered on the following merits :-
1. How dominant is he in the air ??
2. How good is he in the tackle ??
3. How fast is he ??
4. Is he a defensive organiser ??
5. Does he possess good leadership qualities ??
6. How good is he on the ball ??
I honestly don't know how many of these attributes VVD brings to the table although, in all fairness, I've not really taken much note of him in the past and it's only now that he's being linked to City that concern has kicked in.

I'd agree with that assessment in the main MC and the order they were in. I'd actually add "How strong is he and his well does he bully his opponent" in at number three. However, neither me or you pick the team sadly and the fella that does seems to place more stock on number 6 and almost ignores numbers 1 and 2.
Certainly VVD is a good player. Whether he is what we need I have serious doubts, especially at the sums of money mentioned
