No explanation as yet......

I read that mate but didn't think it could've been taken seriously. How wrong could I be?

Aren't they trying to rope in a few other clubs as well, using then as leverage?

What they'd gain from this I'm not sure but it strikes of hypocrisy and a 'Taking my ball home' mentality.

Didn't take long for the tables to turn, the whole club seem to be the new 'Bitters'.

I cannot believe for one minute that is the reason but it just struck me as a great coincidence and very funny. I think it was one of the rag papers that ran the story so I hope they will follow it up after this.

Yeah, sadly I think it's a mutual thing. U16s National finals are on Friday, u17 world cup is on and there's the u19s UYL a few days later. Both squads are stretched apparently so its being rearranged cos of that. Ah well.

They're still shit scared of us, mind you.

I'm off to watch the EDS against Chelsea U21's who play their home games at Aldershot Town's Recreation ground on the 26th, the only bugger is KO is at 17:30 and i normally don't get back from work until 18:30. I will have to engineer something..

It did sound a bit shit, even for them. This makes more sense.

Fairly sure i can engineer something, reporting however is not my forte, certainly won't be anywhere near yours or Twosips level, that's for sure!

well if it was us that was whinging about the team disparity you can bet the Rags media buddy fuckers would have a headline like "City Kids refuse to take pitch vs 'Too Strong' United"

You will need to do some research on the previous reports and come to a conclusion on a good templates to use. Something like...

Teams
Venue
Date
KO time
Referee name

Team sheets home and away Inc Subs
Brief results history

Comment about the difference in size and physicality.

Provide general analysis and thoughts on the overall play and who caught your eye.

Don't forget to be confused at why the full backs cut in and become centre midfielders. Also be completely baffled at some of Vieira tactics.

Then come away and be pretty impressed at the calibre of football from the two best academies in the country.

Final.note... don't forget to mention the weather

You make it sound so simple, but it's not.
Don't forget the inevitable goal that we give away in the first minute of the game was down to our insistence that we play out from the back regardless of the pressure we are under and is all part of the development of these young lads, some of whom were playing for our under 13's last week.....

or something like that.

That's basically every game you'll see at EDS level ^

Plus, we go in behind at half time, before the obvious changes are made and we then play well and equalise.

Though i'd expect we'll lose this one as our EDS is a bit of a shambles at the moment.

Thought the name sounded familiar when I heard the name after he scored v Barnsley. Didn't quite make the connection then. Whatever he achieves with us he will always have the distinction of playing for all age groups for us.

Totally agree with the sentiment that players like him could be invaluable as squad players. Have said this for ages that players like O'Shea, Phil Neville, Wes Brown, were an important part of the rags squad and saving them a few bob in the process. Lads that come through the ranks tend to be more loyal and will try that little bit harder. Four of five out of the match day 18 is not an unrealistic target in two or three years, with the hope one or possibly two turn out to be real stars. But if all of them turn out to just be squad players then that is brilliant too

Went to my first EDS game on Wednesday, quite impressed! However, I was disappointed at the lack of people cutting the kids some slack for making a few mistakes, it's bound to happen! They're still learning!

Spot on mate. It's at every game. Some people think they are the finished article and forget they are kids learning. I wish people.like that were told to shut it or fuck off and get ejected.

It's a very enjoyable day out watching the academy lads apart from the odd dick head.

Loved that ^

Know Danny quite well and was looking forward to that piece. He's spot on too. If we wanted more proof, I saw the u18s yesterday play Boro. Yes, I actually went to Middlesbrough for the games. Sad, I know, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Saw bits of both the u18s and 16s. They were both brilliant.

Wrote that up. Such young teams yet you'd never know. The future really is blue and you cant help but impressed when you witness the belief and quality these lads have.
