Why can't people just move on? Players come and go but the club will always be there. We have one of the best offering the help for the club success, and some people just want to chase him away. Unbelievable.

That would depend on how you define one of the best. A player with consumate skills, who on his day can destroy teams and score a shedload of goals is brilliant but it also depends on what he could bring with him or even why he is here all,
The Tevez of a couple of years ago would be a dream but this time, there are major doubts that we will get that. Doubts over his fitness, doubts over his commitment. The possibility that he may be disruptive in the dressing room and we already have rports that the players may be split on this.
If Tevez ever had any doubts about whether he was loved, he is certainly going to have to be remarkably strong to withstand the welcome he could possibly get when/if he crosses the touchline for the 1st time. I understand he may be aware there will some opposition, but he may just get a shock when he finds out how much.

Tevez's version of it - he is too thick to see Mancini plays chess with his subs and brings defensive changes on first even when intending to change two players in total - (and spaces them five mins apart to avoid too many changes at once).

Carlos Tevez: I want to win the Manchester City fans back
Stuart Brennan

Carlos Tevez has hinted that he wants to win back the affection of Manchester City fans… and says he will do double training sessions and be fit and available to play for the Blues in a fortnight.
The Argentine striker will return to Manchester on Tuesday after a three-month unpaid absence which has cost him almost £10million in fines, and unpaid wages and image rights. He also said that if he gets back playing, he wants to prove himself again, and that City will see him playing better than ever.
“I want to go back to Manchester and win the City fans back,” said Tevez. “People turned their back on me but it's normal. I didn't understand.
“I've decided to return to City. I know I have what it takes to revert the situation. I know it'll be hard, but it's a nice challenge.”

City boss Roberto Mancini said at the weekend that Tevez would be welcome if he said sorry. Tevez said he had been heartened by those quotes, but was cautious about his relationship with the manager. “If it's true that Mancini said he will welcome me back if I'm fit, then I like those quotes. But if he only said it for the media...

“Mancini's position got stronger when Kun Aguero arrived. I don't know if he would have done the things he did if this was last season. “Last season we almost exchanged punches! But he never said anything. He got a better team this season and felt like making the decision.

“Now that I have a cooler head, I understand City fans. Back in the heat of the moment I didn't. I did a lot of things for City. “To be insulted by fans after what happened in Munich was something I didn't deserve. “They could have kicked me out of the club without saying all the things they said. Deal with the situation in a different way. “I think that's where Mancini got things wrong. If we had a problem, we could have sorted it out in a different way.

“Last season, after a home game vs. Newcastle, we almost hit each other in the dressing room. But we spoke the following day. “Mancini is a winner. And I'm a winner too. None of us like to lose." Talking at length about the Munich incident for the first time, he said: "I decided not to talk to the media for the last four months. Last time I spoke was right after the Bayern Munich game. “It was a delicate situation. I decided to say nothing about it during all this time.

“I had warmed up during the first half. Then I went to dressing room. For the second half I was ready. “In that second half Mancini decided to replace Dzeko with de Jong. It was a defensive substitution. I didn't understand. Dzeko argued with Mancini. “I decided to sit. Mancini was upset from arguing with Dzeko. Then he looks at me and asks me to warm up.
“Mancini told me all sorts of things there. I don't know why. I was relaxed. I was talking to Zabaleta. I had no problems. “I never refused to play. I refused to keep warming up. The club investigated and then they fined me.

“I was worried about my future after that two-week fine. That fine was OK. But I want people to know the truth. They didn't want to.

“The club statement protected the manager. I got a lot of heat from the media in England, Argentina, everywhere. “Every time I wanted to take my daughter to school I had five journalists on my back. I trained with the reserves. It was uncomfortable. “I was affected because of this situation. I wanted to find shelter with my family.”

He then went on: “It is true that AC Milan had an interest in me. City didn't want to lose money. It wasn't good for City having me away in Buenos Aires. “I have been training on my own. I know I can be back on the pitch in two weeks. I'm willing to play.

“There's no need for City to make me have 2 training sessions a day. I'll do it myself.
“I picture myself going back on the pitch and I know I have to play better than I ever did.”

He added that he still prefers English football: “I love the English league. I think it's the best in the world. I have a problem with Christmas and New Year's Day. You have to play.

“Going to train on 24 December, sometimes play on the 25th. It's tough. I didn't like that.”

sorry if this was already posted. just woke up.

What does that knobhead think he has any say on tactics. Let's face it, he is a fine footballer on his day but thick as fucking pig shit. He is about last person whose opinion I care about regarding football tactics. If your manager tells you to warm up, you do so.

I could full well see what Mancini was trying to do in that Munich game. He knew he got it wrong from the start and we lost the midfield battle. Dzeko was doing fuck all there as we couldn't get the ball to him. He took Dzeko off and put De Jong on to control midfield and then was planning to throw Tevez in there because he could drop deeper to pick balls and do something with it.

But that's all besides the point. Football team is no democracy. Manager is there to make the decisions and players obey. If manager gets it wrong more often than not then he will be sacked. But then in comes another manager who makes those decisions and again you are asked to obey blindly. If Tevez fancies himself as a manager then he needs to call it quits and become a manager. As long a he is player he will need to do EXACTLY as told.

P.s. what does he mean by "sometimes having to play 25th of december"??
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Don't think we either need him or want him back at the club.

The only reason he is coming back to the club is that they have effectively *uc*ed him over. Really like the stance that the club have taken over the situation. Never slammed the door in his face or entered into any kind of slanging match, but on the other hand have held firm and not allowed themselves to be bullied by either the player or more importantlyAC Milan. who have come out of the January transfer window looking extremely amateur. Still reckon they did bottle it over Kaka.

Tevez doesn't really have a choice here, he has to make some sort of attempt to come back. If he doesn't, then he doesn't get paid for the remainder of the season and also lessens his chances of a major club wanting to take on either him or his hefty salary. There is also a growing groundswell that if he were to be sold then the club would be in a fairly strong position to sue him once he has gone for deliberately decreasing his value in order to engineer a move away from the club. Something to do with European trade laws. So we might effectively sue him for 20million quid say, a fairly hefty hit even by his wealthy standards.

And I hope we do sue him as lets not forget that not only has he *hit on the club and Mancini but also us as paying spectators, the very people that he has happily had help pay his wages over the past couple of years.

Don't get me wrong, Tevez is an excellent player and we have much to thank him for in helping us on our quest and I will always recognise the effort he has put in and the value of his input. But it is now time to move on we have the players to be able to succeed now is not the time for self doubt.

Mancini has to be seen to be playing ball here otherwise Tevez could scream restriction of trade, but there is nothing to say that he has to pick him when fit and it would still leave the club in a strong bargaining position in the summer. If we really need him between now and the end of the season then use him but after yesterdays outburst on Argentine TV who could put there hand on there heart and say that with the scores at 1-1against THAT LOT in the 94th minute, with Tevez sent clean through with only De Gea to beat that he will actually be trying 100% to bury it and send us six points clear.

Hmmmmm thought so.....

Don't play him and get rid in the summer but only on our terms.

Kippax.

AWOL striker Carlos Tevez has jetted into Manchester tonight for reconciliatory talks with his club Manchester City. But what effect could the return have on Roberto Mancini's side’s title chase?

The Argentine international has been frozen out by the Citizens since refusing to warm up during 2-0 loss away at Munich on September 27.

After weeks of training alone at City's Carrington training ground, Tevez absconded to Argentina, leading to the former Manchester United and West Ham player reportedly incurring a loss of £9.6m through fines and loss of wages.

In the Munich aftermath, Mancini vowed that the forward would never play for him again. Since then the Manchester club have sought to offload the want away striker.

But as the ongoing negotiations with the likes Paris St. Germain and both Milan clubs fell through an apparent thawing of the animosity between the two parties seems to have begun.

Time, it seems in this instance, is a healer. And, provided the 28-year-old agrees to drop his appeal to the Premier League over a six week fine of £1.2m, the controversial striker may well play apart in City's attempt to claim their first league title since 1968.

In the absence of last season’s top scorer, City have clung onto pole position in the title race, but have also suffered early exits in both the Champions League and the FA Cup.

Their strikers have all hit goal scoring form but have also had their fair share of baron spells. Fortunately for City, the inconsistent form of their forwards have until now not overlapped.

But with Mario Balotelli missing through suspension and Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko ineffective in attack during the weekend's 1-0 win at Aston Villa, cracks have begun to appear in City's title credentials.

And, with Manchester United hot on their heels, City cannot afford to wait until a goal drought occurs to solve the problem.

February and March is famously the time where United step up into their championship winning gear and seven points in their three away games at Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea recently are clear indicators that this year is no exception.

Mancini will be well aware that in order to compete and not capitulate, as so many other challenges have done in the past during this period, City will need to be seamless.

The Italian will also know how important Joleon Lescott's goal was on Monday, but will also be aware that he cannot rely on set pieces alone, if his strike force fails to hit top gear. He needs an additional weapon at his disposal, one proven at this level.

And with the transfer window now closed, the question for Manchester City, their fans and their manager to decide is whether they can afford not to give Tevez a second chance?

The former Boca Juniors forward is an undoubted asset to any title chasing side. Through scoring or assisting, the Argentine played a part in over half of City's Premier League goals last season.

He is a proven match winner and thrives on the big occasion. Refreshed and with a point to prove, the former City captain could well be the difference between first and second place come the final day of the season on May 13.

But, having handed in several transfer requests and making no secret of his desire to move closer to his young family in Buenos Aires, questions will remain over his loyalty.

Football fans are often known for being an unforgiving bunch. However, a poll conducted by GiveMeFootball on Monday found that an astounding 83% of City fans would be happy to see Tevez back at the Etihad Stadium.

As well as receiving support from the fans, his teammates have also been quick to dispel suggestions that any potential return could prove disruptive to the City dressing room. Pablo Zabaleta told SkySports, that although the affair had been an unwelcome distraction to the City players, they have forgiven Tevez.

"He would be welcomed by the players, because it was a difficult situation for everybody. But most important is that we are doing well as a team.

"I miss Carlos and we haven't seen him for a long time. In this situation we have to be very calm.

"People talk too much about it, for sure, about when he will be back, but we have to concentrate and be focused on what we are doing.

"This situation has been crazy for everybody, for the players, the club and especially for Carlos. If we see him coming back this week, it depends on the manager's decision whether he is given another chance or not.”

It appears that the stage is now set for the Tevez's return. And although the second coming of Argentinean is unlikely to produce another billboard, it seems Carlos Tevez will receive a ‘welcome to Manchester’.

Well, nobody fucking asked me!

Baron spells? It's like the name of a Pavement song or something. Fucking amazing. The crap that passes for journalism in the "blogosphere" is despicable. GiveMeGoodWriting is a website I'll be founding later today.

Cheers
