Txiki really is a terrible negotiator. 12M? Laughable
We paid 10 million.
I thought it was £8 million

But it's just being reported by the media, who we all know talk out of their Arsenal.
20m? In this market and going to a top PL side from a PL side? That number seems a bit low.
I'd say 35-40m, but the surcharge due to competition and lack of available options is pushing the price up.
Laporte and Bonucci are the only other real options I think we have, I can think of.
I wonder if someone like Neven Subotic might be worth considering...Phips permitting, of course ??
Phips can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe injuries have done him in. Never the same.
Whatever it was if we sell him for a pittance it shows that we're desperate to build up the war chest for a couple of tectonic signingsCamebro wrote:Peter Doherty (AGAIG) wrote:Saul Goodman wrote:Celtic want to pay 5m for Roberts? But we're holding out for 12m?

I was undergoing a bout of sneezing when I read your post JC and because of that I, inadvertently, took 'tectonic' to be 'teutonic' and Robert Lewandowski's name immediately came to mind.

In theory but I think there was a few what ifs in that

I suppose he would be suitably "tectonic" but highly improbable. On that basis, if you were a gambling man, who would you reckon we might be targeting ??

If we start selling off the family silver cheap it can only be to bankroll a couple of earth movers - Mbappe I hope rather than Sanchez or Messi but a world class Teutonic midfielder wouldn't go amiss as well - Kroos, Weigl or young Mahoud Dahoud.

Also being reported that we are looking at Jerome Boateng again? Personally it still leaves a bad taste in the mouth that he used us as a skipping stone to go to Bayern. I would have loved to have seen Kompany and Boateng make a partnership together!

I do not like him as a person but hes a fuckign good player - it will be a good signing imo.
