I agree that money only gets you so far... but the FA's gentle assistance is what gets you over the finishing line in pole position.

I think our season really depends on the Arsenal result now as I full expect us to win all other remaining games. I just have this terrible feeling, with their recent form and our recent away record, that we will come unstuck in this fixture. I fully expect us to win the derby in comfortable fashion.

I don't know if we've blown it. We will either finish 2nd or win the fucking premier league. I don't know what will happen, but I'll try to enjoy the ride.
Could anyone ever predict where we are now only several years ago?
Just enjoy it and hope for the best.

The bookies have us at 5/2 them at 2/5 - I think thats about realistic - maybe 2-1 and 1-2 in my humble

I cant be arsed with all this "how dare you be negative" shite - truth is they have better form and the chances are we will end up runners up

I hope and pray with all my heart that we will nick this but reality says that we are at the last chance saloon at the moment.... if you dont truthfully believe that it doesnt make you more loyal - it makes you a fool

Have we lost it - no, we have 8 games - thats plenty to turn it round - but we need something very special if its going to happen

Theres a difference between thinking that the rags have a better chance of winning it, and thinking that the rags have already won it. The anger at negative posters is almost always directed at posters in the latter category.

While I am not a breed & born Blue I definitely stand by those - led by Carl - who would feel an unbearable pain in their arse all summer long IF City happened to lose it. Discounted a couple of limping moments, City have been the most powerful side playing best football all over the season: that why the loss would be very hurting to everyone feelings. Not because Citizens have turned into arrogant ragslike by sudden.
I firmly believe the Lads will deliver against all odds and I am enjoying every moments: come rain or shine.

Though I strongly disagree with the title: FACT is that if a huge double standard hadn't been applied since the end of november City would already be out of their sight: as wisely pointed out by several posters above, it's not only about key decisions taken against us and in their favour, but even more the toxic atmosphere our Lads have been forced to breath by playing in the knowledge that every chance would have been taken to card them while letting their opponents freed to hit at them openly. It doesn't take a Mario to lose cool in such a constant scenario.

I am pretty certain City are gonna tote 94 pts by season's ending, having thrashed the filth twice.

It's not over until it's over, plenty to play for, twists and turns to come and all that... but we now need to look at what the filth are gonna do... still not up for the challenge, everyone involved bar the attending crowd. great to hear bluemoon resounding loud at 1-3.

The reality may be that anything can happen but after today's debacle, even I'm at a loss to find anything positive to take to work with me.
Gutted at the score, gutted at the result but more gutted at the attitude shown. Passionless, apart from a couple of players and a few minutes.
Whatever the faults or otherwise of Mancini's tactics or team selection, there can be no excuse for that lack of fight. Maybe explicable if we were a mid table West Brom or Swansea but not when we're going head to head for the title and directly competing with the rags.

did you see lack of passion in 68 mr cabbie? i thought not.

we're tired. we're not executing to whatever plan Mancini and Co have drawn up. Mancini isn't responding quickly enough. We're getting injured. We're arrogant. We're slow. We're anemic in front of goal as we don't like to shoot, we'd rather get into a knifefight and stab the ball into the goal instead of unleashing a shot like Mario finally did in the 83rd minute.

you only cure ALL those things by sacking the manager, and moving 2-3 players out and bringing in some fresh players.

A winger, a striker and a CB are required. I'd keep pizza as well...we looked like a team with some teeth once he and AJ were on the pitch together. Should have gone three at the back sooner.

of course we've blown it this year it was gone weeks ago when we lost to swansea. but what i have seen this year is true grit against united in the cup, against lisbon, and today against a very well organised sunderland team. i think the seeds are being sewn for a true 'never say die' attitude. This year our fightbacks have been good, but never quite enough (not equalising against scum, not winning today) but i am sure next year that mentality will grow and we will flourish. also PLEASE DONT SACK MANCINI!!!

No idea what his problem with this is. We have actually played better football with 3 at the back, than we have with ANY of his starrting formations for the last 5 or 6 months. Each we have gone to 3 at the back, it is usually in response to a problem though, rather than out of any particular desire to play that way. His reluctance to do so (for example first half vs rags in the cup where he again persevered with Milner at RB) has cost us on a few occasions.

The players and the manager recognized before the Stoke game that we were not really in a position to drop any more points, then promptly went out and dropped 4 of the next 6 on offer.

I am happy for Mancini to stay if we finish the season with purpose as we did last year, title or no title. We just don't look like stopping the rot at the moment even WITH things in our control. Tough to imagine us really pushing on now that we've left it up to the likes of Blackburn and QPR to save our season.
"Certainly our programme is a full one, but as a player and as a manager I've always felt that there is only one way to go into a season...and that's to try to win every game.... While we are in four major competitions we shall try to win four major competitions." - Joe Mercer
