It was definitely his knee, could easily be six months.

I don't think I have ever seen Silva take a penalty before and I hope I never do again. Mario is obviously number 1,Sergio would be 2nd,Milner 3rd and possibly Barry 4th.Strange given all of them missing that David got it before Nasri or in fact anyone else.

Not a great first half was it.I thought Rodders was excellent albeit in that tidying up and give someone else the ball. Vinnie not quite with it to start with but great to see Tevez really at it. Thought the commentators were back on from too especially ratboy who will probably still be trying to get a penalty for Lescott's challenge and ruling the goal out for off side.

So far I'm liking what im seeing.. I think Rodwell is doing well so as Yaya and Nasri...Dzeko is fighting more then last season..Tevez = superb ...

Lets keep it this way city..

I believe we can score few more ... Southampton's fitness has dropped since 35th minute..

Kolarov takes a mean penalty too, and I am still baffled about Silva taking it when Tevez was RIGHT FUCKING THERE.

Without the Aguerro situation, imho we looked mediocre. As a positive thing, we looked the same last year with Swansea, untill Dzeko scored in the 60 minute.
On a negative part, we were poor in the first half with Chelsea too, so i am not pleased at all.

Does anyone think that this injury of Aguerro will have repercussions on the possibility of Dzeko leaving?

Some nice play. Rodwell looks solid, nothing fancy, doing a job. Couple defensive moments where our CBs looked like they knew they were playing a newly promoted side, and acted like it, but then found their legs.

Great movement at times. Nothing more to add about the pen or Silva's play. It's been poor.

Nasri and Clichy in good form. TYY a little off things. Cue someone to blame it on fucking ramadan please.

Dzeko est a Dzonkey, as we know. Why him instead of Balo? i dunno. My fave part was when he played the back and forth from the throw in and Clichy hit him with the ball. That looked world class.

What else? i dunno. Bobby looks Dapper. Potato head same as ever.

Hart seems fine in goal, but let's wait and see when he has to dive or stretch for something. I'm not convinced he's 100% tbh.

Reasonably first half...a little rusty, a little magnificent. Let's go get the 3 pts and rack them.

So glad this season's started...

Er...I thought dzeko played pretty well?

hahaha, forgot about that. I think if we have to look that far back we might be in trouble...not that he could have done any worse.

Nonono, as Kolarov & Savic are not playing (& carl isn't around to slate Lescott), Dzeko is the one scapegoat left, don't you know.

Seriously, Dzeko has been up for it, hustling for the ball & everything, which is good to see. If he keeps it up, there's a goal in there for him today.

I'm guessing it's Aguero's cruciate. I think he'll be out for quite a while.

Good enough half. Saints have had a good go but they've got nothing up front. Dave's having a mare.

Zabs will score a goal this half. I just know it.

slow tempo as expectable at the start of the season with most of players returning late. only very few are close to top form, predictably.
what impressed most - quality of opposition aside - is the confidence on their game plan that appears to have been topped by the title. even circulating at slow tempo and with some less accuracy from the usual "inspirationals", the lads kept going as they were alone on the pitch: great to see and bright evidence on what lots have said about having an additional season of togetherness on the bag.
Struggle to see why Bob went for picking Dave, unless he does not consider he better need playing time to gain game fitness. He clearly looks tired and my instinct is to blame the manager there.

delightfully impressed by Jack: qualities were already there and shown with Golom's men, but I am seriously surprised by the character and atititude of a true champion in the making.
I still think that he is a Marwood signing, just sanctioned by the manager, but if that is the case, it must be a full marks to BM. Great signing! plenty of waters to flow but Bob and proximity with fellow champions will make a champ of him.

nice to see some respect for the Champions from the men in black, too.

Let's hope Sergio knee ain't that bad as it seems and hope, in case that quick decisions will be made if surgery is needed.

Initial thoughts on Sergio are that it doesnt appear as bad as first feared though will be on crutches as precaution. Waiting for it to settle then having a MRI scan on it (we even have one of these!!!)

Edin you daft cunt!

Nasri is an absolute terror today. Great to see.
