Sadly Rooney will be back on weds for them. Could do with an injury or sending off or two here to add to Evra's.

The Chelsea defence looked far from solid at times. A couple of balls over the top exposed them badly.

That should've been a straight red for the little lowlife.

Hope the members of the much-maligned '95-'96 Blackburn side take a moment to enjoy a glass of wine tonight. Rags now on course to amass fewer points than that team.

Is Eto'o the oldest player to score a hat trick?

Surely not, he's only 32! I think Sheringham scored one at 36-ish.

Drogba played here till he was 35. He must have done one too.

The scum sort of played ok but lacked composure and a cutting edge. Apart of course for their defence which was awful and gave 2 goals away. Much of their "played ok" though was all about energy rather than quality.

Chelsea seemed pretty crap but that's what they do.They get organised, they suck you in and they look to score on the break and in the few attacks that they have.It worked perfectly.

Special mention today for Phil Jones.I thought he was absolutely brilliant and confirmed his place among the game's elite players... Oh hang on no he was actually shown up as crap and his part in the first goal where he almost fell on his face was priceless.

Didn't help our title race but a highly satisfying result nonetheless. They lacked penetration and depth so they turned around and got shafted instead.

Moyes bllx post match:

MANAGER REACTION - Chelsea 3-1 Man Utd

Manchester United manager David Moyes, speaking to BBC Sport: "We did not deserve to be 2-0 down at half time. We had a little bit of bad luck with the first one but we can't blame anyone else but ourselves for the other two. We did not defend well enough and did not get a chance like Chelsea got to score, so we can only blame ourselves for that.

"I thought we played well in parts of the game. We played well at the start, we just missed the clinical finish. We didn't score in their box and we didn't defend well in our box. I thought we did well in between the two boxes, but then did not do what was required in the crucial areas.

"We will keep going. We showed a lot of good things today. There is a progress we have to make and improve all round and myself and the club will try to do that."

On Vidic's sending off and Rafael's booking: "I have not seen Rafa's but I have seen Vidic's. Vidic's for me is not a red card, it was a yellow card. If Rafa's was a bad one I would hopefully come out honestly and say what I think."

He really is losing the plot!

Could someone tell me what the hell this means:

"I would hopefully come out honestly and say what I think."

Does he not control what he says himself? Is he really controlled by Sir bacon face even to the point of post match prezzers? Is he suffering from multiple personality disorder?

Agent M is going feral!

The BBC Radio 5 phone-in is amusing listening, almost exclusively rag fans whining and pointing the finger.

What does that mean? We were poor up front and at the back but not in the midfield? Well, not much to worry about, then.

It's funny farm territory. Ah yes Chelsea scored more goals thats true but apart from that we did well especially where it mattered which was around the centre circle.

Skyplussed it & just finished watching.

It was rubbish.

Vidic was off the ground & out of control as well as malicious & he made no attempt to play the ball; of course it was a fucking red card.

The little Brazillian twat goes without saying.

Luiz also should have gone imo; two nasty aerial challenges where he went for the man & not the ball.

But generally just shit football from two not especially good teams.

Mourinho is a difficult to beat manager, but imo if the rags signed 3 players & put him in charge there, then the two teams would swap places.

More ramblings from the padded cell:

David Moyes, on his side's title chances: "What we won't do is throw the towel in until we can't get there. The job is to try and win the title. "The priority is to win the next game. That happens to be a cup game, so I will try to win that and go from there.

On defending set pieces: "You always practice and make sure you do it. People have jobs to do and pick people up and it is difficult to do much more than say this is what you have to do. There were two set pieces that were the difference today. "I didn't think there was a big difference between the two teams today, the difference was the set pieces."

Chelsea are just crap to watch. For the sake of football we need to win the league this season.
