In your opinion.

In pretty much everyone's opinion.

Don't be pretending like you are on some high horse here and we've all had some sort of realisation that he was good all along. He was shit, he wasn't up to speed with this league. Now he is, so deservedly he is getting credit where it's due.

If anything, the turn around for Garcia, Sami and Dzeko could be traced back to the change in management. Maybe Pellers deserves the credit instead.

I am certainly not pretending anything of the sort.

High horse my backside.

I wrote earlier on in this thread that i felt i hadn't seen anything to suggest he is a better player. Or a worse player.

Yesterday i saw the same player doing the same as he always does . That's it.

Wasn't up to speed with the league ? What a cop out excuse that is.

People on here were looking for a scapegoat when things go wrong and chose Garcia.

It's a mute point whether those three players are better because of a change in management because all three have always been good players.

Garcia has been mainly awful. But, he has really picked up in the last few matches and last night he was MOTM. Yes, Slim, credit has to go to Pellegrini. As it does for his work with Dzeko and the utterly transformed Nasri, who looks world class now.

I'm not sure I entirely agree, but I remember a while ago saying Garcia wasn't as bad as people were making out and yesterday was a moment when maybe more caught up with that thinking. We do seem to like our scapegoats and it never helped when Garcia played centre half, where he was woeful.

It's obvious to anyone who knows anything about football, that Garcia has been better recently.

Those who haven't got a fucking clue, just see a player doing the same things. Well fucking 'duh'. Yes of course he's doing the same things, that's his job! What the fuck else is he going to do? He is just doing it better.

He is snapping into tackles quickly, rather than waiting & then diving in too late. He is controlling the ball quickly & passing it, rather than dithering around & then passing it sideways because he's run out of time. He is making himself available for return passes, by moving intelligently, rather than standing just behind an opposing player & making himself unavailable.

His performance at Newcastle in the League Cup, (where Lescott, yes LESCOTT had to take on the role of passing the ball forwards because both Garcia & Rodwell didn't want the ball) was a fucking scandal.

Last night his performance was heroic & was the kind of performance he put in for Benfica, where he was something of a hero because of it. He has had several such performances recently.

No fucking way was he the same player before that. His best game previously was probably his debut.

Imo, his Bayern away performance was probably as good as yesterday's.

I said his 'recent' performances have been better, not just last night. As far as I remember, that was probably the first one of them, when he looked sharper than his previous (non) efforts.

He has been performing to a high level of late, consistently. That said he's had some great performances for us previous to this most notably away against Arsenal last season, away to Bayern this, came on against Chelsea last season and won the challenge that set up our second goal to seal the game. He has had his fair share of stinkers but those that claim he's shit don't know their arse from their elbow.

That first aerial challenge that he won early doors yesterday sent a message to Chelsea that they weren't going to get away with that tactic of lumping it high to the left that they profited from last time out.

Well played Javi.
