***Burnley POST Match Thread*** (split from Matchday thread)

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

I think some of the problem is the result of the FFP restrictions. I must admit I thought the signings were adequate at the time. It's hard to legislate for the loss of form of Zabba, Vinnie and Dzeko's wretched season. Jovetic has disappointed me as I thought he would have a great season now finally fit.
It needs a tweak or two, a big signing to give the squad a lift and hopefully some younger players coming in to put pressure on for places.

Our team had a spine with no backbone - so it's time for surgery.

Interesting line in one of the papers today. Refers to how Wenger getting lots of plaudits and Pellers under the cosh. That's Wenger who won the cup last year and whose team sits behind us in the league and Pellers who won the league and a cup last year and sit second. Their conclusion? Too much emphasis and credit given in short term form.

I completely agree, why is it reported as such? Saying that, when have they ever been supportive of us and derogatory towards Wenger?

Good point beefy. Happy to have that system in place but i am often not around straight after games as i am either travelling or drowning my sorrows. Happy for someone to open up a new one though. If we do that as a matter of course it will become the norm.

This.... Gary Neville, MONDAY NIGHT FFS He Highlighted everything we have all seen last night. Half arsed and downing tools, His take was fantastic, he has hung some of the games best players as lazy cunts, who cannot handle the pressure so hide. Yes the manager has got some tactics wrong, he cannot be blamed for players strolling around and refusing to work. HE HAS HANGED SOME OF OUR SQUAD, I LOVE IT WHEN THEY HAVE A GO AT JESSIE, WELL THE CITY PLAYERS HAVE HAD A TASTE, I SAY FINE FUCK EM, WELL PLAYED RATBOY ABOUT TIME!

As long as I kick the Mrs off the laptop, I'm usually around and I'm sure there'll be plenty to help out.

No we couldn't, we couldn't compete for wages on them players, part of the sanctions were a wage freeze, it wasn't just about transfer fees when we went into the market last summer.

Even more, players would've been looking at us and thinking that this FFP could really hamper us further down the line as well, not allowing us to bring quality players around them.

Don't just think this was just about the transfer budget, it went far beyond that. Just note how many players were transferred between the G14 clubs.

And Hazard's agent wanted £8M as his fee, personally I think that should come from the one who employed him, not the one he's trying to screw more money out of.
