There you are Mase, I'll let Micah defend himself in his own words

@MicahRichards: If people actually think I had a influence on Delph not going to city your wrong! And I have nothing but great things to say about city!

If anyone ever thought Micah would ever speak ill of city they are soft in the head. He's a blue through and through.

Does anyone think the Delph deal was a bluff to get Liverpool to accept our offer. We needed to sign an English player after all. :)

Tbh he did unintentionally speak ill of City in a recent interview, basically by being honest about the chances of players like Delph getting games at City.

He didn't mean any harm but Delph reads that, then has a word with Scott Sinclair, & it all adds up to putting players off. That's why the reporter asked him. He fell for it.

We were after Delph before he signed for Villa, I have no clue why soo many wanted him here after seeing him play for them,
only 8mill so what? He`s no better than Jack Rodwell. If we gonna challenge this season we need top class players that will improve us.

Bale, Pogba ...

Well I'd be more than happy to have a fit Rodwell in the squad. His problem was his injuries, not his talent. The idea of having 25 world class players is nonsense

True, very much a case of entrapment from the media and naivety on his part, which is surprising given Micah is no stranger to the media. Ah well, what's done is done, good on him for speaking up on his twitter though!

You're absolutely right about that.

I thought he added a certain something extra to the team whenever he did play for us and it's just a shame that his injury record suggests that he might be just a little too fragile for consistency in the Premier League.

It's a shame really.

Its not Rocket science is it?

Delph knows the game and has played at the top level, I dont think Sinclair or Richards could say anything that he didnt already know. I just think the lad woke up and thought, you know what, I get paid well enough now and I am captain and play every game, what more do I want?

IMO he wrestled with the less playing time and medals with playing every game and having the club captaincy. I like the fact that he chose to be loyal, its a trait lost on 90% of players.

Well done Micah. He has said loud and clear today that he had no influence on Delph and that he has nothing but good things to say about City. It's good to see someone putting the gutter press straight and giving positive comments on us.
Edit-I need to keep up. I see this has already been covered.

Is it really loyalty though or more that he bottled it?

What I think happened is that he wanted first team player status and was only offered a squad role, probably on not masses amounts more than he gets now, and what with the euros looming decided to stay put

Probably sensibly realised he was not at the level of our midfield and made the right decision. Not bottled it IMO, just came to the right conclusion.

I dont get these agents trying to get clauses in contracts of guaranteed game time, do we insist on guaranteed form from the players? It's up to the manager and the players, if they are playing and training well, they will be picked.

Do such clauses even exist? Is there any evidence to suggest they do? or is it just something fans made up when they didn't agree with a high profile player being picked when he's out of form?

Denayers Agent was quoted as discussing the players playing time before he signed.

I'm sure they ask for verbal assurances that they'll be in the reckoning for playing time. I just can't see it being put in writing that any player will be guaranteed x amount of games.

Perhaps I'm wrong, it just seems bizarre.

I would be pretty confident that yaya's contract has something in it. I love yaya, but sometimes, you just know he shouldn't be on the field.

If there is then we are fucking idiots, that just gives licence to players to not put any effort in. I can't see us being that stupid, can you?
