It does appear to me that the players have welcomed him back but you never know what goes on behind closed doors. I won’t be cheering him on or chanting his name and have not done so since the debacle started in December 2010.

I do hope though that it doesn’t create a shit atmosphere form the stands as this will have a diverse affect on the team. We need to support the lads through what will be the most important run of games I can ever remember as a fan. If he can play anywhere near the level we know he can then we have a great player for the run in, but im not holding my breath.

Let’s just get behind the lads in this run in and cheer them onto the title.

I do not see the lads giving a toss, most will have found it funny at first, They rate him highly and have a prof respect for Bobby, You know yourself players stick together,Managers come and go, players never give a second thought, look at Chelsea for confirmation. Matchday when the manager has them together, 33% will be pissed off as on the bench/dropped, Tevez is a top player, the squad only judge on ability, He is still one of the top dogs in world football let alone Carrington, It is not as though YAYA will not pass to him, He is still a tosser but so are many players in some way or another. 50% will have nothing to do with each other day to day, fans,we want the league so for me a fired up Tevez can help me win me the league, still be a **** today and for ever that is football. Cole and Sheringham never spoke in 3 years not a word nothing they were amazing for the rags. The scums manager let em get on with it Cole, had his mates Teddy his and off they went every Saturday to win games which is at the end of the day what it is all about. Players are not fans I have changed since I know but fuck it I want the title, listening to players like Nasri, he has no fears in playing with him again.

I never wanted to see that Cnut wearing a City shirt again, ever. If he does get to come onto the field I believe every fan of football, let alone City, owes it to themselves to give him as much stick as humanly possible. This shouldn't be seen as "poisoning the atmosphere" against the team in general, just a demonstration of total animosity toward one greedy, self-serving tosspot.

Sorry mate but that is not how it is perceived at all. Anytime we booed the oppo or the ref at half time we are told we are booing our team. If we actually are booing players on our team and our team happen to be performing well then it is most definitely going to have an adverse effect.

You should boo mancini because should tevez end up on the pitch it will be because mancini thinks he'll make the difference. Tevez will simply do as he always does which is tear the oppo a new arsehole and more than likely score when fit.

He's an absolute cunt but this is a club decision.

Don't boo the a title chasing team or any part of that team. It would be completely pointless.

Don't agree OD.

It's quite possible to hiss him onto the pitch, ignore him while he's on it, then hiss him off it again, without upsetting the rest of the players (they'll be fully aware who the butt of our anger is won't they?).

Fans could cause a distraction. WTF we are not living back in the 70's. Most fans follow players on twitter and the players will have seen the fallout from his so called apology. They will be under no illusions that the runt will be given a verbal mauling and if anything mancini, when selecting the playing squad will prepare them for this. Tevez will hear my displeasure no matter how much the forgive and forget brigade on here try and put "if you do that you will hurt the team" bollox on it. JoeyB was booed intensely by us against newcastle, we won 3-0 and it was arguably his best game. So the theory just doesnt hold water.

Emotionally, I couldn't agree more with your view of Tevez. His actions damaged the club, weakened the team and he deserves all he gets. But There is a bigger issue here than just the Fans/City/Tevez, there is a League to be won (and a Europa League). We need the whole club to be pulling in the same direction.

I accept what you say anecdotally but I suppose if I looked hard enough I could find examples where a divided club also suffered.

Like you, I am under no illusion that this apology is nothing more than a negotiated settlement but, though I am very unhappy about doing so, am prepared to take one for the club and on this occasion, accept the club view, keep my considerably large and loud gob shut....UNTIL JUST AFTER WE LIFT THE TITLE and the little worm trots past me on his lap of honour...In between tears of joy, I will give it him all barrells blazing.

His first appearance, if he has to make one at all, needs to be as a very late sub in a game we are comfortably winning. That will allow the fans who want to boo to do it without an adverse effect on results. He also probably needs to warm up inside rather than in front of a stand.

Whatever anyone's personal feelings on here, a large number will boo. And a large number will have a go at those who boo. And it'll all kick off.

The Bolton or Blackburn games may have been ideal, but doubt he'll be back that soon.

Reading that gave me a horrible thought.
Tevez sat on the bench getting grief off the fans....decides he can't face them and refuses to warm up....Noooooooooooo!

So, Mancini has stated that he will play again but is 2 or 3 weeks away from fitness.

Seems we're gonna have to suck it up!

And then he'll have to train for a few weeks to get used to the team again. Then other players will be playing well and Mancini won't want to drop them. I'll still be surprised if he starts more than 3 games for us this year

Just a reminder to all and sundry in case some have forgotten how he has treated us.(Nicked from BM)

TEVEZ

He cheated on his wife when he was a United player and it effected City's season as his wife had left him and he had to go back and forth between Argentina and England to see his family,
He publicly moaned about Hughes being sacked,
He publicly moaned about Mancini coming in,
He publicly moaned about Mancini's training schedule,
At the end of 2009-10 season he said he wanted to leave so City mistakenly offered him more money, gave him the captaincy, got rid of certain players and said he can take holidays to go and see his family just to keep him sweet and get him to stay,
He still complained about Mancini's training schedules,
He openly showed his anger at Mancini on the pitch after an unacceptable performance (his effort levels were none existent and his product was awful) where he was substituted for Zabaleta,
Against Newcatle at home in October 2010 - out of nowhere with nothing having gone against him and nobody having wound him up - he booted the ball against the advertising boards and picked up his fifth booking of the season (to me it looked absolutely on purpose) and in the next week where he should have been training with the squad he went of on holiday but not to Argentina to see his family but with some bint to Tenerife,
After a great run of points won we were top of the Prem, but in December 2010 he came out to the media and said he hated Manchester and didn't like Mancini and put in a transfer request as he didn't want to live in Manchester or play for City anymore,
After not getting a transfer he moaned about Mancini and City as a club a bit more and moaned about our fans being obsessed by United and said he didn't like the songs we sang for him as they were more anti-United than pro-Tevez,
From February to May he didnt score a single goal from open play, his effort levels were average and his physical shape was looking quite bad,
On the way up the steps at Wembley he threw City scareves away that were given to him,
At the end of the 2010-11 season he came out to the media and slated Manchester saying there's nothing to do, there are only two restaurants, he didn't like the people and then he handed in another transfer request,
He moaned about not getting a transfer,
He moaned about Mancini again,
It was unclear whether he was even going to bother coming back to City after the Copa America, he did bother but was very late back breaking club rules,
[after this, when he came on against Bolton as a sub early this season he got a big cheer of loads of Blues in the crowd - WHAT THE FUCK?! ... I certainly didn't cheer the cunt!]
His effort levels when on the pitch were average and he was fat as fuck,
He was on the bench at Bayern München in October and when called upon my Mancini he sat there and refused to warm up and get ready to come on,
He went off to Argentina and hasn't returned since,
He's slagged off Manchester, the club, the manager constantly and said he never wanted to return,
Just before he did return he complained about Macini yet again and said he was treated like a dog,
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

Pretty good summary. Bizarre that some are desperate to see him play again - not just on here but listening to the post match phone in as well.
