I really do not want Alves.
He was a fantastic player, but we need young good players and after the precedent with Maicon, I would rather look somewhere else.

Citywatch are saying we are in for 20yr old Ivorian Nicolas Pepe and would go direct on loan to Girona.
Barcodes and watford are also looking to get him.
If I were the player i'd personally take my chances with barcodes and prove myself in the Prem and hope a bigger team buy me rather than spending a year in Spain knowing that I may never even visit Manchester let alone play for the first team.
If we are in for him why not us buy and then lend to barcodes?

I'm with you PP.
Now is the time to be looking to the future; no more short term fixes.

I'd agree, unless the plan is to have a young understudy to Alves, who looks to have the qualities required, but is a couple of years off his best.

That would be the only logical explanation PB
Somebody has already updated his Wiki page, showing him as being at City lol

SSN tweeted hammers are trying to sign Giroud
My favourite response from some bloke (presumably a gooner) "and I'm trying to get with @mileycyrus, guess how that's going"

I might be coming round a little, to the thought of signing Alves.
Even at his age, I think I prefer him to Walker. If this means we save a wasted £40 million on that Spurs muppet, then I'm all for him.
We still need somebody decent for that position though.

Maybe our budget can't stretch to two expensive RBs? No? OK, as you were.

As you said in the Dani Alves thread itself, £45 million for two right backs isn't too bad in this day and age.
Just hope the other one isn't Walker.

Sanchez just came on wearing 7 in the Confed Cup, Raheem might be a little anxious.

Looks like Bravo can't get a starting place even at his national team.

He is a prize prick that guy. I'd unsettle Kane now without any intention of signing him to as a big fuck you to Spurs.

We shouldn't even be talking to him.
And walker is not worth 40m.
Surely for that money there are alternatives.

Walker is English though and that's the thing. We'd not be looking at him if it weren't for the home quota hurdle.

The same number Sanchez has been wearing for a few years now for Chile?

He was on the bench last night. With Romania also last Tuesday.
Maybe they are resting him.
Maybe.
