Didn't see anyone reply to yr question Florida, so in case you're still wondering, finishing first means we avoid playing the other teams who topped their groups plus some teams who finished 3rd in their Champions League group who now drop into Europa League and will be seeded as group winners. Basically we avoid the strong teams in the next round.

Top of the group and 2nd leg at home in the next round.
Well pleased.

Seems the Old Lady is being given some respect.

When they start winning again, yes. Glory hunters will go back to support Juve when the Inter period is finished.

You forget AC Milan, mate! With new signing of Cassano this shall be the best squad of Italy in the next 3 or 4 years! My own derby in Champions League just 32 years after the Paul Powers 'legendary score in San Siro ... what a life for me!!!

I'm sure that Renato, Roger or CFFR will correct me if I'm wrong but Torino/Juventus are very much like the cliche (which we all know is actually nonsense about City and United fans).
Juventus are massively supported in the whole of Italy (and overseas) like the munes.....I'm sure they have a decent fanbase in Turin itself (just like united do in Manchester) but many of their gloryhunters/daytripper fans were likely put off by the prospect of trips out to watch games in Serie B against teams they had never heard of and still haven't "turned back on" due to the fact that the Old Lady has not had any real success since Caliopolli and getting back into the top flight and has a team largely bereft of any genuine superstars (of the current day at least).
I'm sure that the move from their "home" to the ground of their rivals for a couple of years hasn't helped matters but I think that it's the lack of success and star names that is keeping away their traditional matchday fanbase.
That said, the reason they moved away from Delle Alpi to have it redeveloped was to make the ground smaller as their crowds were never exactly amazing (plus they had the running track around the pitch which they are removing to produce a stadium that I heard was intended to be a bit more "English" in the ability to create atmosphere and intensity).....so all in all not exactly a shock that their turnout was totally poxy for an irrelevant game (from their perspective at least).

You got the gist of it more or less. Especially with the gloryhunters part. They abandoned Juve when the team was relegated, and haven't come back yet as Juve still hasn't had success since then.
You're also spot on on the crowd never being astounding so the new Delle Alpi will be smaller, possibly with an external sponsorship (I think that was the talk, you know, like Arsenal with the Emirates, but i'm not sure the sponsorship actually happened).
I'd love if the Stadio Olimpico in Rome were to be redeveloepd without the runnign track, now that would be an atmosphere as it's often full in big games, and 80k people singing would create an hell of an intensity, lol.
