No the solution is to take off a defensive midfielder and add a striker. That way we have options when it comes to playing the ball forward.

Say aguero is on, we play the ball forward and the Porto defence have 2 players to think about and if we get the ball upfront there is an option to the side or forward rather than back which gives the rest of the team the time needed to get up in support and press them back. I understand what your saying but is de Jong contributing to the attack?

And you can't use THAT fuck up as justification for us basically playing with 10 men.

There is always an issue with de Jong and Barry as de Jong doesn't go forward and Barry hasn't got the pace to get up and down. Take one of them off though and you lose a lot of cover for the defence and the fullbacks will definitely have to stay back or you end up with silva too deep as happened in the first half.

Don't know much about Pizarro but may be tempted for him for de Jong to offer a bit more passing and Aguero for Nasri to keep 4-3-3
