If we miss him, that means we missed our last five major targets: Sanchez, Sneijder, Hazard, RVP and now de Rossi.

Bobby has every right to have a row with Marwood.

It's a bit of a silly statement considering Mancini has had a hand in it and can't talk him round. Did Mancini also chastise himself?

I can't imagine a player doing a presser to say he's leaving his boyhood club. It doesn't make sense to me and don't remember it happening before. Press conferences in such situations are normally good PR for the club and player, in which he confirms his undying love foe his boyhood club.

It'll be a first if he announces he's leaving when he could just slip out the back door.

There is a guy called Carlo Garganese, who used to work for Roma, then went to Gazzeta de lo Sport. I've watched him on twitter for a thew years now and was correct in every single football tweet he had.

According to him, Rossi is staying with Roma. He was convinced by his family + after a convestation he had with Bobby, Mancio told him his backup player will be (if he decides to stay to Rome) M'villa from Rennes.

Imho, this isn't bollox.

Tend to agree which is why maybe we should pre-empt it with a denial before Roma do a humilliating , showboating rebuffal of any suggestion he would come to us

I think that will do only if eventually Modric will go the Madrid. This croatian saga looks more and more like the one they had last year with Chelsea.

You would have thought seen as though Bob has had direct contact with DDR and his agent he'd know if this press conference was just a "look at how loyal I am to Roma!" kind of thing.

I would have hoped Bob would have spoken out before hand before another snub story came out.

If Mancini ignores it until Roma do the grandstanding then Marwood looks worse for the wear, so...why put his cock out there and say something about it?

Sounds like Spuds have nipped him to his backup target too.

No, i don't think he's having a row with Marwood...ahem. OR, alternate reality, DDR is coming, and so is Sinclair and Roberto doesn't need to say shit, because he's getting what he asked for, later than he wanted, but he's getting it.

some of it. sort of. maybe. kinda. a little.

Seeing as we know Mancini has spoken to Roma more than once about De Rossi, if DeRossi doesn't sign, does this mean he is not good enough as a negotiator ?

Don't take my hyperbole at face value. However, in contradistinction to that softening comment, i will say that Mancini doesn't negotiate. He can persuade, sell, convince, etc....but that's not negotiation at the core. The negotiation process sits firmly with Marwood and his crew.

Related, i wonder what the backroom convos were like to bring Tevez back into the fold last season?

cheers

Don't know about that. Kun's didn't had a saga back in that period like those players had. It was all in two weeks time.

But its now public knowledge that Bob has spoken directly to player, agent and manager so its only going to be him who comes out looking not to good, not Marwood.

Bob most know that and has had opportunities yesterday to put a positive slant on it but didn't.

Maybe I'm clutching at straws.

My apologies Ted, I should have said '..and may not be able to talk him round', although I do think the first statement was more accurate.

With regard to the Press Conference, it sounds like it was already pre-booked and nothing to do with anything Man City. He's there promoting the club, giving good PR and possibly in order to get bums on seats. They seem to love stuff like that over there just like we like to see some of our players on the OS.

It's not transfer related in my opinion but will ensure he lets the fans know how much he loves them and the club. We'll just be an aside.
