This Sinclair as striker might not be the worst idea ever though IMO. If hes in the last quarter of the field with the ball it means hes had less time and space to fuck it up. That can only be a good thing.

My biggest concern now is keeping Aguero 1. Fit and 2. On his feet.

Just picking up on the Sinclair bit, when has he actually fucked up for us? He's hardly had 10 minutes on the pitch but when he's started he's tried to do the right things, came close to scoring once or twice too.

Close season- open season. Makes sense.

In Oz we call it an off season, but just to assimilate with the locals I'll call it a close season. Innit. Barm. If I'm honest to be fair.

What system is he famous again you old fucker?

Given that his Malaga side failed to score a single counter-attacking goal in La Liga last season, the only side not to do so, and only once played two up front, it is conceivable that City may use Aguero or Dzeko as a lone striker, with a fluid attacking midfield of Jesus Navas, Yaya Toure, Fernandinho, David Silva and Samir Nasri/James Milner supporting the Argentine.

So do we really need any new strikers this transfer window?

Yes, of course we do.

If Dzeko or Aguero get injured, we have one, that's ONE, senior striker available for 4 competitions plus international appearences.

Guidetti has spent most of the past year injured or unfit.

It would be absolutely criminally stupid not to sign a striker unless we could sign a 20 goal per season midfielder.

Just because he plays a formation with 2 people at the top, doesn't mean that he plays with 2 strikers. Most of the time he seems to play with a striker and a winger/attacking midfielder upfront. And at Real Madrid and Malaga (your video was from Villarreal), he seems to play with one man up top (4-5-1, 4-2-3-1) a lot. From what I've seen, it looks like we might play Aguero/Dzeko with Navas/Sinclair next to them on occasion.

If we're relying on Scott Sinclair up front then god I hope this season goes quick because it will be fucking painful.

You are clutching the straws now because you went out all guns blazing on the back of some Sky Sports journo. If you got two guys playing up top then they are strikers. If Gael Clichy is placed next to Aguero then he is striker even if you think his left back.

He prefers two strikers and two guys playing off them sometimes pretty wide. That will be Silva on the left and Navas on the 3ight quite likely.

Also, this guy is no retard. Of course he will use lot of different systems and formations. But so far in his career he has been pretty strict about that 4-2-2-2 and that includes Malaga. From what I saw of them it was RSC with either of Saviola or Fernandez playing off him. They were used in those attacking midfielder positions as well with Julio Baptista who in turn was used up front some as RSC's cover.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Sounds like we are actively pursuing deals for Osvaldo, Negredo, and Jovetic. Of course only one or none may come. There is still time. Sure, earlier the better but sometimes that's not an option.

Well Suarez has said he is happy teams in England are still interested in him so you could be right with your hunch mate.

It is deffo looking like one of these two for me mate , both proven premiership class . Tevez a very tough act to follow and the Jovetic and Negredo bollox just the usual smokescreen ? We will see in a week or so i guess ? ;-)

Are we still worried?

I am very happy with the transfer window so far, maybe replace one of our left backs and a 4th centrehalf, but can't think of another position screaming out for attention.

Lot of it depends on were these Pellegrini's players. There are some boom or bust signings like Jovetic and Fernandinho who are taking step up as far as competition goes. Navas is a role player. Only Negredo seems pretty surefire to me and even he will need steady providers of chances behind him in order to succeed.

Don't take it the wrong way, I like what we have done in transfer front. Isco might turn out big miss though unless Jovetic really turns out to be able to play deeper than he has in the past. And let's not forget that Tevez is gone. There's just this bit of a feeling on the back of my head that these guys may not be perfect fits. I had the same feeling after Garcia, Sinclair etc last summer but people were equally bullish about our transfers being top quality then. Out of those Nastasic turned out to be excellent talent and Rodwell shows lot of promise but Garcia and Sinclair (transfer which I didn't understand at all but was bullishly told to shut up) were trash. There's possibility that same will happen again and in reality, with Tevez gone and us underperforming last season, we need to get all these signings working.

Attacking midfield is still a need. We need to get rid of Kolarov but I'm happy with our fullbacks with Richards back and Zapaleta beind able to work on both sides. Clichy of course pencilled as a starter. I like our cb's but veteran back up would be welcome for depth. Back up keeper is needed as well should we let Pants go.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?
