Is that is what is meant by 'coming from left field'?

there must still be a 'care for the scum' fear factor for Dowd not to send him off - I think he was turning away intending to not even book him until the Chelsea players pointed things out.

Re the Vidic one, what was it with all the media people saying it was only a yellow? So the Kompany one against the scum was a worse challenge? - Yeah right!!

I had a quick look this morning to see what the red scouse were saying about the scum - they share my obsessive views.........

Thought this snippet was quite insightful:

"It's been crossing my mind today that Rooney and RVP won't look too bad in the summer if they make it clear they want to leave for Champions League football, especially if much of the season can't be blamed on them if they're 'injured' for most of it.

On the other hand, if they bust a gut and get 4th somehow, it would be harder to frame a transfer request that didn't make them look bad, and what would they realistically be looking forward to next season? They know how much work needs to be done, and how likely Moyes is to do it. They can see the resources that Chelsea and City can plough into their teams....."

Interesting, especially as Shrek can buy out is contract in the summer - how much motivation would they really have - would they push hard and risk injuries with the World Cup coming? - last one for both of them

Rvp won't be there next season and if Shrek has any sense (which he probably doesn't) then he won't be there either. Both of them will know they are on a sinking ship. I reckon the former will end up abroad and the latter at Chelsea.

i think once they play, if they are fortunate, in their cup Final v City they will be in operation shutdown for the WC. I would be if i had to work for this douchebag Moyes.

cheers

And they won't have much resale value. Rooney because of his contract situation and RVP is two years older than when he was signed and has become injury prone again.

Agreed - but what you hear is that "...it will all be OK when the 2 top strikers come back.........." - but if they do not come back absolutely busting a gut then this will not be the case - and perhaps they might have little motivation to do so.

I would not be surprised if at least one of them - perhaps both - are already planning to move on in the summer and would therefore not run the risk of injury etc

I'd actually prefer both stay there or go abroad rather than move to other PL clubs. Even with Rooney the rags are shite, but if he goes to Chelsea he'll strengthen them.

I would not be surprised to find out that a deal has already been done that in July Rooney buys out the last year of his contract and joins the chavs in August.

Childish perhaps but made me smile - apparently there are a few of them:

Giggling all the way. Got to be a doubt whether Shrek and Rvp play together again? They both appear to want out and in World cup year both won't want to bust a gut in either returning or playing as they are both shoo-ins for their countries regardless of form. Agree that Shrek to Chelsea wouldnt be great but realistically its the only club that will pay his wages

Taggert overspent on RVP to plug the gap short term to help his push for the title last year and it worked. He fucked off to the comfy seats knowing full well that RVP would be injured more than he played until the last year of his contract if he followed the same pattern as he had at the Arse.

I have no doubt they will be off - do enough this season to keep fitness levels up and then push for ofski's

As Doomie mentioned, there is a high probability that a deal is already being nurtured for a trip to Chelsea for Shrek. Dunno who'd take a punt on RVP again...

RVP would also be a typical Chelsea kind of signing. Rooney could go to Liverpool if he can buy out his contract.

There's even a bloody good chance both could end up at Chelsea in the summer.

i love their policy of telling all supporters that go home and away all the internal politics of the club. That's a really great way to connect with "customers."

Could see RVP at Chelsea but Shrek at the dippers? Never. He'd be lynched by Everton and dippers and rags. Plus dippers aren't dumb enough to give Shrek a 4/5 year deal at 200k a week, which is the minimal of what he would be after
