Still shit? He was excellent today, scored 2 assisted 1, should really have had another 3 assists what with Kelechi's wrongly disallowed goal and the two he put on a plate for Sterling in the second half.

I love how he drops deep pulling defenders out of position which opens up space for Sterling and Navas to run into. It's great to have that option in our attack, the variety we have keeps the opposition guessing.

Bony was far from excellent ffs. I "get" the getting behind the team shit but if you can't read real life what you're seeing criticism in a match thread then this isn't a place for you. Some people need to get their blue tinted specs off and just have a conversation without getting their fucking patriotic club genes all offended and bothered.

Bony won't cut it against great teams unless he steps it up. He will know that much about today better than any of us. I promise you that.

And I 1000% support every city player. But it doesn't mean I can't write what I'm seeing and share an opinion.

Cheers

Cheers buddy, thought so but stream dipped when they went to replay.

It was a nice goal as well. He's got talent that lad.

was the first goal offside? Where I sit I kept an eye on the linesman as I'm right in line and he put his flag up before Sterling scored then put it down when he scored

I'd say 100% onside but I have to admit I missed the first 2 goals ;-)

No, the player who slid off the pitch kept him on. Apparently if you unintentionally leave the pitch you are still in play. Good decision in the end

Come on the Blues!

Agreed.

Garth Crooks suggested that Bournemouth couldn't cope with bony's strength and that he was key to the victory. ( he also mentioned sterling and kdb - not surprisingly)

His finishing, wasnt excellent but his game grew and grew. And what he brings has been pointed out by others, so I won't go on about it.
No doubt we'll play better teams than Bournemouth but if Bony is in the team we have to put out, then so be it.
He's no Aguero, but we don't have Aguero available, so we need to get over it.
Bony played a lot better than the amount of criticism that he got on here suggests.
Sterling missed easier chances and they were set up by Bony. We're off his back now though because he got a hatrick and generally played very well.
We all have our opinions. I thought Otamendi was kak, but got away with it against this opposition. Nobody was on his back.

Heat of the moment we sometimes post stuff that's OTT. Fair enough, but I don't think I was looking at that match with Blue tinted glasses on. I think FIBD's assessment is accurate, if you are pinpointing just one player's performance.
I'd guess others would agree.
Hopefully Bony will get his act together sufficiently and quick enough to come up to your expectations Doomie, but one thing's for sure, he improved and grew in confidence in the second half. I'm just glad he couldn't hear you shouting at the TV, about how shite he is.

I think Bony's performance today was what he is. He is not a Sergio who flits into space. He is not a technical player like the Spanish team is full of. The things he did are the things he does, and he did them very well generally. I really like Dzeko but he frustrated me in a way Bony didn't today. I think he's a good player who was excellent today, but I'm not sure he has the quality to deliver against the best teams in Europe.

A solid but not a great performance, but a fine win after the international break and enforced changes. Great to see two players whose confidence has suffered recently on the score sheet. With his England goal, that should be enough to get Raheem buzzing again, but Wilf might need more games. Weak links in the starting 11 today were Otter and Zaba (Sagna by far the better fullback, even on the wrong side), though Zaba improved second half. Demi or Vinnie for Otter in the next game, and Zaba just needs more games.

Rags getting cocky after their win, so let's show them what's what next week.
