What's with all the alliteration these days anyway.

I think I'll take up s bit of assonance for variety if this goes on.

It's an exciting exercise in determining those instances where the paths of alliteration and onomatopoeia cross one another.

A sort of linguistic equivalent of "when two worlds collide".

We've just got to be aware though, that your assonance might have a tad too much resonance, or common sense in this instance of relevance.

Ok. That's all very well.

I was thinking more along the lines of;
The headlines tomorrow.

Rags hadn't planned on hard match and clowns found out in first round.
Boring Maureen causing nausea with all the appalling skin crawling excuses.

I think it'll definitely be on the back page of The Sun.

Inter 0-2 down at home to Hapoel Beer Sheeva, to think this kind of dross is getting the UEFA 'preferential' treatment next season, along with our noisome neighbours of course.

Like it IWT.

All joking aside, you've got a certain way/skill with literary delivery. It would be a shame if you couldn't ever find an outlet for it somewhere in the public domain.

Good question ZC.

Note the alliteration though ! before Slim pulls us up for loose allit.

"Wooney 's wig woven from", would be more impressive alliteration.

1. Pep has inherited the best squad in the league by far and strengthened it further.

2. City already played possession based pass and move football before Pep arrived. All he has added to them is better fitness, better off the ball work in terms of pressing and better tactics than Pellegrini. Mourinho in comparison has not only had to add a new spine to the team, he is also teaching them to switch to direct, quick passing, pressing, playing in transitions football, that allows more instinctive play, a far cry from the controlling possession approach grilled into them by LVG for 2 years.

3. Baring Porto and his first Chelsea stint. All Mourinho"s teams have been best in their second season. It has always taken a season for them to truly reflect a peak play Mourinho team. I see no harm in similar patience at United.'

they seem to prefer to talk about us than a 'non significant Dutch team ' which refs always favour.....lol

I've a better idea Mikhail. Let's not leave all joking aside. Certainly not on a night like tonight.
I get bored easily when City aren't on.

I can put up with the ginger one being a raggy twat, because he is one, which is fair enough.
What I can't abide is Little Mickey Owen, first he was meant to be a scouse legend (Yet another one), and second he only played for the rags for about ten minutes.
What a cunt.

He's burnt his bridges with the scouse. They hate him now.

Everyone hates him. That's some achievement. In fact, it probably is the only thing he has achieved

I dunno, his claim that he didn't have a history of injuries (around the time he published that brochure about himself trying to find a new club as a free agent) takes some beating. That was the very first signpost I saw of what a complete moron of an individual he is.

I've just read (and chortled at) the report on the bbc. I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned that the Feyenoord goal had a slight suspicion of being on the edge of offside about it.

They've been cruelly and brutally denied.

I read the beeb report too . Yes, clearly a suspicion of offside preventing the rags from claiming a 0-0 victory !

What a bummer. I was just coming down from our fabulous exhibition of the beautiful game, and then United go and send me buzzing again. Hardly worth trying to concentrate on anything useful ahead of Saturday's game now, what with the Chelsea-Liverpool UEFA game this evening. Complete bummer ;0)
