No it isn't that simple. If Sane was in an offside position when it was last touched by a City player then he's offside. The fact is that he wasn't, but the official flagged because he wrongly thought the ball that Milner played came off a City player instead.

The linesman assumed that a City player, and not Milner, was the one who played the ball to Sane. Had that been true then sane is offside. I'm not one for arguiong though, and if I'm wrong then apologies.
