I vividly remember silva playing against us when we faced valencia in the thomas cook trophy a few years back, he tore us apart that day (even though we won... i think) very rarely i watch a young player and am blown away, i was on that day.
I would be utterly delighted if we sign him, he oozes class. Him and Jinky bombing down the wings, wow, amazing stuff!

Balague now also saying we have agreed a fee for silva. I'd say the mail is proven right by this, Balague knows his stuff when it comes to spanish players, he also mentions yaya being agreed to.
Top stuff, things are looking good chaps!

Not certain hes actually saying it as if he has it on good authority that its going to happen. Its located in the rumour section of his site.Having said that i do hope it is true, seems to be gathering momentum without any attempt to deny or distance himself from a move.

I like the bit where he says we're after fullbacks.

Gollum Ballbag likes to jump on a deal when it's almost done and claim prior knowledge. There's no insight in his article, but I get a feeling that things will move on both the Toure and Silva fronts as soon as the WC finishes.

god I hope you are wrong. That'd be extremely negative tactics and not nice to watch at all.

Based on Bobby's first six months in the job you want to bet against it? And when it works like it's supposed to, you end up scoring 11 in two games, didn't find those games boring.

Thing is, you might have couple of odd good games but no side, I repeat no side, has ever dominated any league playing 4-4-2 with two holding midfielders and surrendering center of the pitch on attacking third to opposition. It's just shit thinking in my opinion.
Personally I don't think we'll be using that system, system that Hughes was fan of by the way, and IF Mancini really uses system like that even I will start having doubts about him. But I think Mancini is quality manager and will not act like a fool. I think we'll be using 4-2-3-1.

So essentially the same thing with Tevez dropping into the hole?

Me two and I hope so. I laid out the formation I hope we adopt on this thread last week.
However, there is a good example of two predominantly holding midfielders playing in a 4-4-2 and being successful, Petit - Vieira.
