By all accounts it's not a release clause, just a 'we can talk if we feel like it' clause.

I still think they're writing rubber cheques.

Sunderland signed Jozy Altidore, not Everton.

Liverpool Mad? They have been mad for decades. If Big Andy is worth 33 mill Dennis the Menace must be in the 60 mill zone

Too right. That just isn't "the Arsenal way' .

Arsenal have bid £40,000,001 to trigger a clause where Suarez must be made aware of the bid but still don't have to accept it.

Isn't that just the stupidest fucking clause ever.

Everyone knows there's only three types of clauses - A release clause, Santa clause and just clause.
Every other clause is a load of bollox.

What about a 'sanity clause'?

Bollocks we missed out!

CSKA Moscow's Brazilian forward Vagner Love is leaving the Russian champions for Chinese side Shandong Luneng.

"The decision was really difficult both for the club and for the player," CSKA say. "However, Vagner received an unprecedented offer of a personal contract while CSKA received a very lucrative offer from the Chinese side."

Anyone seen Chelsea's Bertrand Traore play? He apparently has been very impressive for them but they cannot sign him until he turns 18 in September. Looks like a good young player that we could snap out from under our rival's noses..

I misspoke. Never mind.

Under Fifa regulations, Chelsea cannot give the player a professional contract until he is 18 on 6 September, in accordance with the rule that prohibits international transfers for non-European Union players until that age. Yet it would appear that Traoré “the triallist” has been at Chelsea for some time, at least as early as September 2011. He is in the United Kingdom on a student visa.

The concern for Chelsea is that the teenager, who has had an association with Auxerre in the past, is effectively a free agent. Chelsea are in the process of applying for a Home Office work permit for him, although they are not convinced they will succeed. If that is the case they would not yet be able to offer him first-team football and he could theoretically be persuaded to sign for another European club when he turns 18 on the basis they could fast-track him into the first team.

Out of all the new signings this summer, who do people believe will have the greater success if you like? Who will be an instant star? I personally believe all of them have potential to do really well, thoughts?

From the 3 that have played so far, all three could be huge. Just need to see how they adapt. Also need to see jovetic play before making a judgement. But all in all, looks quite positive so far!

Just seen this as well.

Very disappointing from the club, Suarez looked one of the few who may have been able to make it.

I thought it was the main aim of the club to bring guys like him through... hmmmmm
