Simple rule of thumb to follow for any City transfer is to believe it when theyve signed and its on the OS. Until then, all the bollocks and rumours is for the tabloids to bat around.

Thats report refers to Cook "bottling it", Something about Pgba and Scouse Rieira - seems rather far-fetched and made up, but if Silva signs then great, if he doesnt then another decent player will certainly come as City are not in the market for the likes Danny Mills and Ben Thatcher anymore are they?

Chill.

With this the petrol dollars ask for Brazilianista Jo but no with the Samba tiedo de copa. The economic proposal had been irrechazable for Silva, who through their representatives had reached an agreement for the next four seasons with El City. The Mestalla was counting for at least £24m euros initial, as Barca for Villa, so this news becomes major problem for Valencia in future mercado. Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Not sure of the source for Dub's comedy translation, but in recent hours/minutes we have the following:

Gentevalencia.com - the signing of David Silva by Manchester City, sending RSC in the opposite direction, leaves Mallorca forward Aduriz without options. Silva is at the point of saying 'yes I want to' to City.

El digital de Madrid - Villa and Mata to Barca, Silva to Manchester City. Valencia is left without magic.

El Periódico Mediterráneo - David Silva is a new signing of Manchester City, according to (Radio) Onda Cero yesterday. Total agreement has been reached between the clubs, and it is only waiting for the player, who has already reached financial agreement with Mancini's side.

Orange España - "Silva signs for Manchester City". Silva said yes yesterday and it only remains for the 2 clubs to seal the deal, which could be announced after the Chile/Spain match today.

Marca - Arbaloa - "If only Silva had come to Madrid". The signing of David Silva by Manchester City continues to provoke reactions.

Goal - with David Silva 1 step from City, RSC is the name of the moment...................

MD - why Guardiola prefers Mata. ".................and David Silva, who yesterday said yes to Manchester City...."

MD - Silva goes to City, which doesn't affect the Mata deal.

Diario de Mallorca - ....the transfer of Silva to Manchester City........

Granada Hoy - Silva sets course for Manchester City

Diario de Sevilla - as above

AS - Silva yesterday said yes...............

Las Provincias - the transfer of Silva to City will be completed imminently

elvalencianista.com - the steps are continuing to complete........ ....his agents and City have already reached a deal....

And many more in the last 24 hours.

Everton have apparently made an enquiry over the availability of Stephen Ireland, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The paper reports that the midfielder wants to leave City, but that the Eastlands club will want between £8m and £10m.

David Moyes has long been an admirer of the Republic of Ireland international, although it could make City’s interest in Mikel Arteta more real if the Blues make a formal move for Ireland.

Jog on Moyes i wouldn't sell you the shit out of my arse.

City line up Ibrahimovic

City are lining up a third big money raid on Spanish football as they turn up the heat in the summer transfer market.

The Blues could land Yaya Toure from Barcelona next week, hope to persuade David Silva to accept a £29m move from Valencia after the World Cup – and are ready to revisit their interest in Nou Camp ace Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The big Swedish striker appeared to be a no-go for the Blues when Barca stated last month they would not sell the man they bought from Inter Milan in a staggering deal worth £56m last summer.

But Barca are still chasing Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas, Liverpool’s Fernando Torres, Valencia’s Juan Mata and are said to be interested in City star Robinho.

After signing David Villa, the Catalan giants have indicated they may be prepared to sell Ibrahimovic to fund their spree, opening up the intriguing prospect of a player-plus-cash deal for Robinho.

The Brazilian ace’s agent Evandro da Souza and his father Gilvan da Silva met with City officials in Manchester yesterday for an “amicable” meeting about the player’s future.

Their prime aim – to try to get the £32.5m buy’s loan spell at Santos extended beyond August, is believed to have been rebuffed.

But City are expected to allow the agent to tout Robinho’s services to any clubs interested – and that includes Barcelona.

City are also interested in Barca target Torres but the Liverpool striker appears to have indicated that the lack of Champions League football kills any chance of a move.

The Blues are hoping that their moves in the market will persuade some of Europe’s top stars that they are just one season away from competing with the continent’s elite clubs.

The deal for Toure could be wrapped up early next week, with the big midfielder’s Ivory Coast side set to exit the World Cup after today’s game against North Korea, unless they score a hatful of goals and Brazil do the same against Portugal.

The two clubs have agreed a fee, understood to be around £26m, and Toure has been tempted by the prospect of playing alongside big brother Kolo and by a £120,000-a-week deal.

City also hope that manager Roberto Mancini can charm Silva into accepting a four-year contract offer believed to be worth around £155,000 a week.

They hope to talk to the player over the weekend, following Spain’s final group game against Chile.
Valencia have denied a deal is in place for Silva, although they have given the Blues permission to speak to their player.

The Spanish club’s vice-president Javier Gomez said: “There has been interest from City but we have no agreement on a figure.”

Reports suggest that Chelsea are set to hijack the Silva deal, but Valencia have not given any other club the right to speak to their player

I am positive the Chelsea thing over Silva is just smoke from the agent. Okay, he is a good player, but why in the hell would anyone try to highjack a deal City were involved in? Everyone we have bought so far has been well overvalued and I imagine whatever the figure, the same applies to Silva. There is easily better value for money elsewhere and it wouldn't be in their best interests to open a bidding war with City anyway cause we can respond in kind.

i can't think of anyone we've paid anything close to market value around since the takeover. The surcharge feels like about a 100% uplift on actual player value on average.

Given was great value as well.

Bellamy seemed over priced at the time but has been well worth what we paid. Adebayor, Tevez, De Jong and Bridge I would say were all either good value or about the right market price.

In fact, I would say the only deals where I've felt we've truly had our pants pulled down were Santa Cruz, Lescott & Toure.

Toure I thought would be a good signing at the time but has proved to be a massive disappointment and Lescott is a very good player but we overpaid by about £10m on what he is worth.

The Santa Cruz price was awful.
