I thought he was spectacularly good when I 1st saw him but I've also seen him look pretty poor in some games. I'd definitely take a gamble on him though as he could be different class if it all comes together. Vinny should be able to help persuade him.

I'm not ITK, unless surfing the net counts, but I get the impression we're in for another Tevez, Kaka, Eto', Terry type transfer with the strong rumours around the likes of Gerrard, Torres and Ibra. Hopefully this time, the club can keep it a bit quieter and we can avoid the issues which came with some of those.

My only hope is that if we are going for a big name, it is because we know how he will fit into the side and the way we want to play and won't just be a big name for the sake of it. I think we're probably fairly well known already, so we don't need another Robbie. I'd be more than happy for us to sign some very good youngsters and perhaps have another season of building before finding ourselves with several world class players who have grown into that at City. The example has got to be the likes of Lampard, Torres and even Tranaldo - decent players when they were bought, but nowhere near what they turned into.

Maybe it was a poor video, but he didn't seem particularly impressive on it. He gets forward, with no real purpose, didn't seem to make a killer pass and useless at tracking back - are you sure it wasn't a video of Wayne Bridge by mistake?

Mirror thinks we shipping 14 players this window
Roberto Mancini is set for a summer revamp at Manchester City – with up to 14 players heading out of the club.

Mancini, who will kick off his summer recruitment drive with the £11million capture of Hamburg defender Jerome Boateng, will get ruthless with the squad he inherited from former boss Mark Hughes.

City boss Mancini is also looking at possible moves for Benfica midfielder David Luiz and Napoli play-maker Marek Hamsik, as well as aiming to lure Fernando Torres from Liverpool.

On the way out of City are strikers Benjani, Valeri Bojinov, Felipe Caicedo, Kelvin Etuhu and Jo, all of whom spent all or part of last season out on loan.

Winger Martin Petrov, who missed the last three months of the season with a knee injury after briefly returning to the first-team, is also heading for the exit door.

And there remain question marks over the futures of Craig Bellamy, Stephen Ireland, Nedum Onuoha, Micah Richards, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Patrick Vieira and Sylvinho.

Robinho, who returned to his native Brazil to join Santos on loan in January, will also leave City, following the failure of his record £32.5m move. (Daily Mirror)

would make sense with those new rules coming in we need to ship quite a few otherwise they would be on the books but not playing.

A bit over the top from the Mirror there. I can't see us getting rid of 14 players, 7 maybe.

Solid post. I'd be quite happy if we adopted that philosophy with one or two experienced big names for a nice blend. Gourcuff, Hazard, Jovetic and the like are the players we should be signing.

Sounds like were talking to Gerrard or Ibra then.

What would you guys think if we signed either? Both amazing on their day but also come with their baggage. So would not too thrilled.

Gerrard I wasn't hugely keen on when I first heard us being linked with him but the more I've thought about it the more I'd like him to come. Ibra is a yes for me. He would be awesome in the second striker role behind Tevez.

Would love Gerrard at City, but im concerned about all the scouse1 baggage he'd be lumberd with - cant see him going to anouther PL club really - he's 'typcasted' himself as a scouse player and he knows no better
