Mancini : Tevez refused to take to the field [merged]

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Basically he's signed his professional death warrant as far as City is concerned (and maybe in general terms too), there's no way he can appear even on the bench for us again. He's in breach of his contract at the moment but we have to tread carefully to avoid him claiming constructive dismissal (if we tear up his contract and sue his arse) - meaning we have to allow him to train BUT NOT WITH THE FIRST TEAM. We have to take a legal solution to the situation in my view. Whatever happens he's finished at City.

About Tevez AND Dzeko

He's gone up in my estimation

Mancini has never been in question for me.

Week on week he just galvanises his place here, I like him more and more.

This is make or break time for this city era, we must back mancini all the way on the Tevez issue or we are screwed as bobby will walk and we will enter another transitional phase.

Time for the city board to show they mean business.

I won't waste any more words on this, other than that Graeme Sounness was spot on with every comment he made about him.

Whatever Mancini does he gets my support, but this has just gone beyond him - Kaldoon needs to come down hard on Tevez.

Agreed.

Khaldoon must act to remove Tevez or the fans and media will come after their heads instead.

Carlos has blown it this time. It's over for him.

By the way, when did a pitch become a "field"?

field

noun
1. an expanse of open or cleared ground, especially a piece of land suitable or used for pasture or tillage.

2. Sports .
a. a piece of ground devoted to sports or contests; playing field.

b. (in betting) all the contestants or numbers that are grouped together as one: to bet on the field in a horse race.

c. (in football) the players on the playing ground.

d. the area in which field events are held.

Does that dictionary also define a squad as a "roster"?

The same dictionary defines the central players in the team as MidFIELDers.

It is simple. Gardening leave on full pay for the rest of his contract. No flashy transfer and we flout FFP rules if necessary. it is a matter of honour.

Send him home to his family. As they say in Good Fellas, "now, I turn my back on you."

Anyone hear that Pablo Zabaleta was also involved in this dugout controversy?
but then I also read that Mancini made a mistake with Zaba?
what's going on there?

absolutely not, I want to see him punished, he should now be out of the 1st team squad, train with the reserves, make his life hell and fine him 2 weeks wages every time he doesn't turn up. I hope we never have to pay him another penny, let him retire and threaten to sure him if he ever comes back during the next 2 years.

id also call zabba and sergio aside and explain that tevez can never be involved in the 1st team again

The stint on Irish TV helped him there. He was able to say what he thought.

Bad day at the office for us, but the CL is a tough competition and Bayern weren't going to give anyone an easy ride. When they got their tails up at home, they were deadly. We'll learn a lesson, we'll move on.

It's deeply disappointing about Tevez, but he's the one who's going to suffer most. He had a chance to be part of something special, instead he's got an unhill struggle to resurrect his career.

I've no worries about Zab. Mancini publicly addmitted he was in error with Zab and that'll be sorted. I think the same goes for Dzeko who probably was just angry that he was subbed again when he felt he could do something.

i loved it.

He said Dzeko will be sitting with him on the bench next time, and stressed that Dzeko wasn't angry, but HE was angry with Dzeko's performance. I fucking loved that.

He's not afraid. Players need to see that. He's been backed into a corner by these fucknuts and i'm glad he came out swinging...says a lot about our manager imho.

Carry on Roberto...we'll figure this shit out together.

cheers

The beeb are running an article with some quotes from Bob, two of which are:

(About Tevez) "If we want to improve as a team Carlos can't play with us. With me, he is finished."

(About Dzeko) "He was disappointed but he played a bad game. It is the last time any player at this club does that."

Getting anything in Munich was going to be difficult anyway, so I'm not suicidal about the result. Batter Villareal and we should qualify. The second half performance was poor, but then they didn't score during that period, their goals came when we were playing ok - strange game football.

As for Tevez: I don't remember anything like it in all my years of watching football. The players have to obey the instructions of the manager. It's up to the board to sack him not the players. Our board have to back Bobby to the hilt on this one or else we are going to get similar crap with every precious twat who thinks he's doing us a favour by putting on a blue shirt.

At least we aren't going to put up with the "will he won't he" rubbish, we know where we are. Hope you like training on your own Carlos.
