There'll be a mountain of wax outside that shithole tonight. And I'm not just referring to the content of Adrian Chiles' ears.

And having just watched the red card again, all I can say is it was well deserved.

I'd say TV pictures for the sending off were inconclusive. As far as I could tell his finger tips could have caught him in the eye as easily as missed. But not for Chiles, Blobby, the Ginger Pig and "City fan" Dixon. CHEAT!!!!

Am not going to crow at Liverpools expense as in 24 hours we may very likely suffer the same fate.

Not sure why Coutnho was parked on the bench so long when Liverpool needed goals, as he livened the whole play up when he came on. Similarly, and I say this about us and English teams so often in European games - why on earth didn't Liverpool start the first 20 mins of the game like the last 20? When they went kitchen sink and played at pace, as they would in the Premier League, they unsettled Basel no end and made them backpedal and uncomfortable for the first time in the match. No doubt Ill be saying the same thing about us tomorrow if we come out and basically tippy tappy it around all night like we tend to do in CL games.

Come on City, be yourselves and imagine its a Premier League game.

It was the fact that he looked round at the Basle player, then stuck his hand in his face.
Totally premeditated imo.

well i think he got exactly what he deserved, no need to make the ref make a decision. Markovic looks over his shoulder and deliberately lashes out at head height with clear intent, whether he brushes the lad or not is pretty much irrelevant.

Don't agree that it was a red. Soft as fuck and i don't think he tried to lash out... more tried to just put his arm out to shield the ball. Either way, i enjoy it going against liverpool cos its funny innit?

I'm picking up talkcrap on AM radio at 6 25 am UK time .Who is the wally of a reporter talking to 'Phil' in the Studio about Scouse 2 in the CL?

Allowed to waffle on , complete dross . Selling Scouse 2 Big , completely devoid of the reality that they have been woeful in the CL and PL this season.

You shield the ball with your body. Pushing other people is a foul. The only contact allowed is shoulder to shoulder.

He slapped out , it was premeditated and unnecessary. In front of the Ref too. He's a bit of a prat for that and the Manager should give him a rollicking for it.

had a look back then lashed out wish his hand. stupid.
a slight flick to the eyeball is more painful than slap across the face

That was disgraceful cheating. Nothing more nothing less. Shameful
But still quite funny

Shows a lot of what is wrong with the game today imo.

Markovic was an utter dick to put his arm out. It invites contact and thus a reaction. Absolutely no need to do it, he had beaten his man.

The Basel lad, for going down so easily is a disgrace. Soft as shite. Not the sort of character I'd want to see on a team of mine.

The referee for buying the theatrics. A yellow and a stern last warning could have sufficed. It was hardly violent conduct.

Brendan, for moaning about it and how it cost his team. You went out because you are a shadow of last years team. At least Starfish admitted as much.

The pundits for using the incident to deflect from dippers deficencies and to bemoan their exit. Bit like the rags a couple of years ago when Nani was sent off against Madrid
