Just woke up after a long drive home following post match celebrations. Has a whole City team ever hit that level of collective performance before? Not since the 5-1 in my experience.Fernandino out performed Ya Ya and laid down a marker for what we should expect even before he scored that sublime goal. Problem at left back? What problem? Was Hazard playing? Anonymous as is often the case. How many times did Dave simply run away from his marker? We were fitter, stronger, more skillful and better organised and motivated. Ran them ragged down the wings and through the middle. And kicked them when necessary. Wow

I thought we were outstanding yesterday. I really enjoyed that game, and atmosphere. Maybe a little too much (terrible hangover today).I love how we play, it is a pleasure to watch most times. I thought both Mangala, and Kompany, had great games. There was a tackle from Sagna also that was world class, cant even remember when it was now (lol).Well done City. And our fans for making the place rock, my ,my, what a day. Only 2 games in i know, but if we keep playing consistently with that application it is going to be a good season. Also isn't Mourinho a sour ungracious bastard.

Sterling more shit than last week, but did pose the threat on the left that makes space yet again so he's useful.

Fernandinho my MOTM. Was everywhere. Elbowing Costa was massively accidentally amazing. The goal was icing.

Big big day for him. He was the difference for me.

cheers

It did more than create space, as our four opening chances all came from the left with Raheem directly involved in three of them. There was nothing wrong with the so called chemistry between Kolarov and Sterling until Mourinho reacted and shifted players around which opened up the right flank which created the first goal. Not bad from Raheem IMO. Went quiet after Mourinho nullified him but so did Silva arguably. Don't understand why you're singling out Sterling but perhaps I'm missing something?

I also think Raheem did well tracking back and closing down Chelsea players when they were trying to counter. The most notable was when Kola was out of position and Hazard was bolting down ready to cause problems.

He's really almost a decoy at times thus far two matches in. Is he "shit"? No. Is he 10x performing better than average pacey wingers on any team? Not a chance, yet.

He and Aleks should have created 3 goals in the first half if they were better connected. A few times in the first half especially the best ball was from one to the other and they each played a harder lower percentage pass which resulted in giving the ball away. Must have happened 3 times in 5 mins which is what prompted me writing this.

I think they'll work it out fine but Sterling isn't anything special just yet. I believe he will get there though no danger.

I do agree that one time he tracked back and got in the way of Hazard was important. Navas does that every 3 minutes.

Cheers

I do agree with this. I think the overall workrate from everyone has gone up and long may it continue.
But Navas does that tracking back bit every game. Sterling, I think, will do the same. Not so sure, you'll get that from Nasri.

This was effectively why I mentioned this and why Samir is riding the pine as they say over here at least until he proves otherwise.

I said to my brother after Nasri came on that we'd struggle down our right side now cause he wouldn't track back. He looks like he's got moobs as well the fat little coward!

Even Neville disagrees with you Doomie

Neville was also full of praise for £49m summer signing Raheem Sterling, insisting the England international's displays against West Brom and Chelsea have impressed him.

"I think he has developed, in the two games I've seen, a very good relationship with Aleksandar Kolarov," he said.

"I think he brings pace. David Silva playing centrally is a benefit of having Sterling there as a genuine, good wide player.

"It just works all round for me having Sterling at Manchester City. I think he'll get better service. I think he played well today without being what I would call outstanding, but he played the position well.

I hope so! Can't stand the guy. Haven't hated a City player like I do him since Clough.

Nasri is the one city player I hate to see coming on, he always seems to be laughing and joking and never focused.
His decision making is very rash, always seems to blast the ball at any chance he gets when there is better options on.
His best days are long gone and I'd be glad to see him gone, he's had a free ride for long enough

We might get a crate of Italian coffee aswell.

We should be looking to flog him to Juve if we sign Ginger Kev, Inter have already had us this summer with Jovetic.

I read that this morning. I can't be held responsible if he went for a quick poo and missed all of what I saw.

Just watching the highlights from yesterday on the OS. Navas was classy yesterday. I don't usually give him any credit but he ran his tiny Spanish bollocks off yesterday.

Out of interest, do people think that Sagna and Kola have looked decent so far because they've had two fast players in front of them that track back? I think it's helped a bunch!

And watching tunnel cam you'd think Costa was a nice lad. He comes in and says hi to all the security opening the doors for the players. Gives all the City kids high fives when walking passed.
