I actually thought that too, but didn't get to see a replay, that showed it.

You need people like me to say ”that”s the thread guy”.

To all the pundits (and even the most pessimistic of us fans) that still claim that City always struggle in Europe... So far, City have more points than United, Chelsea & Arsenal! We have 1 point less than Barcelona, Real Madrid & we have the same 6 points as Bayern Bloody Munchen! Grinding out difficult points are exactly what champions do... Especially without 2 of the best players in the world & the ref officials mostly working as Sevilla's 12th man. City are 1 point behind group D leaders, Juventus & I hope everyone will be back for the away leg.

As I feared from the start Sevilla are a good team that will overrun us if we play Yaya as one of 2 in the middle and that's effectively what that was all about.
We got lucky they messed up their final ball or finish and then KDB snatched it for us at the end but generally we were poor tonight. It seemed to me we ran out of energy into the 2nd half and we really settling for a draw. Then Sevilla decided to settle for a draw as well which was very strange and cost them dearly.
One up front on Sunday for me which means either Bony or Sterling does not start.

I'm pretty sure I know which one would be on the bench if i were a thousand year old vampiric footy manager.
Cheers

Best and most realistic post of the night for me !!

The defending tonight from the whole team was abysmal, what the fuck is Zabba at? Sagna must start at RB Sunday. hes fucked.
phips wrote:that central defensive partnership is truly awful. neither of them has any sort of commanding presence. when Vinny and Marty are in their they're always yelling and marshaling the line. neither Mangala nor Otamendi are doing anything close to that.
Sterling had close to his worst performance in a City shirt today. if there was anything close to an adequate replacement on the bench Sterling would've been hauled off.
Bony wasn't far behind. i can't imagine how badly he would've been ripped on here if Rami hadn't deflected the shot in and Bony's shot went where it was supposed to: horribly wide from a yard out.

I'm really pleased that I've found another optimist here! Yes, it wasn't pretty to watch, but I found it very comforting to know that we have goalscorers that can rescue the team, when Aguero, Silva & captain Kompany are missing.
With the PSG vs Real Madrid match ending goalless, most of the news outlets are featuring KDB's late goal & saying that he's worth every penny. I liked this overview of all the matches today...
"Brightest Finish Of The Day...
Late Champions League winners are becoming quite the habit for City, aren’t they? It was a Sergio Aguero penalty against Borussia Monchengladbach last time and on Wednesday it was Kevin de Bruyne who got the goal City needed for a win in injury time.
Yaya Toure picked up the ball in an incredible amount of space, and slid it through to De Bruyne who took a touch inside the defender before placing the ball into the net off the post. If the young German can propel City to the Champions League heights they’ve so far been unable to reach, he’ll be proven worth every penny of that £54 million to City’s owners."
