Without taking the piss, I think the world would be better if there would be more people like him.

But going back to the subject, I always respected Sturridge, even if he got a lot of heat. He never celebrated scoring against us. He moved on, surely, but he kept his act together.

I don't think he celebrated scoring against anyone, he was a right miserable bastard.
If anyone wasted their career it's him, from us to dippers then West Brom, some mickey mouse Turkish team and now he's in Australia whilst still only in his early 30s.
Wouldn't play if he had a broken toenail.

He had that sorta robodance.
But agree, waste of skin. Huge talent, but waste of skin.

That was a big a deal in social media era. Not to me personally, but to many hacks out there. It wasn't smart move, had he signed it no one would have gave a shit.. A poor decision that made it into mainstream and now it's a big deal, granted rather pathetically. We left in good terms, wish it stayed that way.

No, the thread title says it all really. He is a good, very dangerous player who causes havoc for the opposition, scores the odd vital goal and can even change games if all goes well. At the same time he is disastrous when faced with a one on one and time to think, misses quite regularly from distances my 92 year old mother would score from and most annoyingly, has an amazing tendency to fuck up a fantastic forward move by a) failing with the pass b) going the wrong way
c)running stright into the defender and giving the ball away, stranding all his teammates upfield or d) simply falling flat on his arse with same result as c

I have no doubt he will start like a house on fire, but when they get to know him...............................................

I’d rather we hadn’t sold him to a PL rival tbh.

And all of that was when he was playing with top players and a top manager.
Hes gone down a level now.

If he does, then doesn't that put HIS failings down to our other players? Or even the manager & coaching staff?

No.
For me he did not try for the past two seasons.
Evidence is how rubbish he was for us before the Euros and how good he was for England at the Euros.
Following that logic, Southgate is a better coach than Pep

Not going to lie, I am going to miss him a lot. I think we will as a team too, although Alvarez looks tasty as fuck and Haaland is a beast, so we will probably be alright.

Unfortunately, the lad suffers from a severe case of unlikeability.

He'll never be a legend at any club, regardless of what he does on the pitch.

I'd love to know what part of the process he thought "wasn't fair".

It wasn't fair he got picked for the biggest game of all. Even though he'd been dogshit for months before it.

Bye bye

Any sympathy I had for Sterling is out the window. No self awareness that his form had gone over the last couple of years, that he kept missing easy chances. Pep apparently didn’t start him out of blindness to his form apparently. His team mates didn’t work just as hard as he did. No statue for you.

Absolute victim mentality, but we knew that anyway.

The guy wasn’t put in the Champions League final which fucked up the whole team. He missed an open net against Lyon. He’s fucked us on the big occasion a few times. What more does he want?!
