Watford appoint another new manager, Valerian Ismail. That's 28 since the turn of the century

They had 27 in the previous 100 years!

Looks like Poch is going to be Chelsea boss. 18months tops he will last. I doubt they will get top 4 next season and even top 6 isn’t a formality. And two seasons with no European football in a results industry will be disastrous

He must enjoy roles where he is being micro-managed? First spuds and now Chelsea. A tad more pressure on him this time, expectations will be higher due to them missing chumps league revenue

Should be a nice payday for him. If he is successful, then he's a hero. If not, he'll walk away with a tidy sum.

Or if he’s successful, he’ll get another season before he’s sacked. That’s usually how it works out at Chelsea and the same for Tuchel.

Only a two-year deal. Looks like the owners are tightening the purse strings.

That does speak volumes....... but hopefully clubs will start to see the sense, it is after all performance based job.

Mourinho for example has made a very healthy wealth out of getting sacked to date... £93.5M!!!!!

Who was it, not that long ago got given a fucking 8 YEAR contract, was it somebody at Newcastle???

On the other hand, the arabs that know fuckall about Football had only 3 appointed managers in 15 years and stood 1 year and half by the side of a manager that wasn't brought by them.

It was. And it was strongly rumoured that Mike Ashley had bailed him out of significant gambling debts and the longevity of the contract was the time to pay it back

Apparently on Tenable last week they were asked the last 10 City managers.
I got 8 without googling.
Your mind plays tricks on the last 2. Any takers.

Alan Ball instead of PN? Or was Steve Coppell after Ball?

Clark before Royle, Coppell before him.
I got Clarke after a bit of thinking- I'd totally forgotten Coppell's month.
