Nice article from the MEN and very true. The Rags are just a massive PR machine who go into overdrive when things aren't looking too rosey. Take our game for instance. We beat them on their turf, quite comprehensively I'll had, and Taggart comes out for his interview and basically states that they were great and unlucky to lose the game. He tells the world that Van Puss-wank was awesome and that it was a great show for the spectators, taking faint praise for an unexpected loss. That was then followed by the news that they've secured a new multi-million pound deal just to lessen the blow a little more. And what about the Falcao deal?
Moving on though, and as mentioned there, what is so impressive about their style of football; who would you rather watch?
The truth is that I'd rather see one of our great games than 38 of their 'Kick and Rush' style football. People have talked about their wingers and pace but I'd only want that in addition to what we've got already.
Looking towards the end of the season, what really have they to look forward to? Their season has now fizzled out. They've already been celebrating winning the league, that's theirs already so what do they look forward to. It's just an anti-climax when all is said and done and that's why the Rags are frothing at the mouth with our win over Chelsea. It'll rile them like fuck that we have a very good chance to usurp them, in a fashion that will be far more appealing to other football supporters. They can't handle it.
Anyway, I'm happy with what was a great week and long may they continue, starting with the Wigan game. Even that has more charm than United playing Stoke or West Ham, we all know that these games are just dead-rubber.
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".
