As a matter of fact, he was transferred to Fiorentina, in a deal which allowed us to sign Manuel Da Costa (a defender who by recollection made a debut at your place in the 3-1).
What actually happened is not clear to me, however. There were stories of his having problems in his family and he didn't settle in London at all. He was only a kid, in truth. We saw one decent (sub) performance, but it was buried under a miserable result against Everton.
Not a signing that had much impact really. We are a club littered with questionable signings, tbh. Its the Academy that keeps us going (until they're sold of course).
