too easy - you're normally a lot better than that - almost the whole squad needed updating during the hughes era and you know it

When are you going to let Hughes go? You haven't shut the fuck up about him since he left.

You should be creaming your long johns now that he's gone and you got the very guy you wanted, so please mate, pipe down, its fucking boring at this stage.

As for Petrov, I'd like to see him stay - his contribution in the time he has played has been very good and he looks improved now that the players around him are of a better quality.

It looks like he is losing a yard of pace every week, and let's face it, without his pace he isn't that brilliant is he?
Still a very decent squad player for us now but a few months on I don't think he'll be much use anymore tbh. I say let him go and earn his last big contract somewhere else.

I think with Petrov you have to accept that when he plays, he can be dangerous going forward but will give absolutely nothing where working for the team is concerned. He's the archetypal luxury player- but this season thankfully his quality going forward has managed to outweigh that.

He seems to know that he's losing pace and it looks to me like he's adapted his game- lots of cutting inside, looking to slot a ball through the middle and long distance passing (something he's just about the best in the business at) whereas when he joined us his game was give-and-go, sprinting beyond his fullback and whipping crosses in from the byeline. He can't terrorise defences with his pace anymore but his eye for an opportunity is still there. As he ages it might, as BT mentioned, be worth playing him in a creative central role in front of the midfielders.

Obviously his injury record is a problem, but he still has plenty to offer us so if a reasonable deal can be agreed- say 2 years on similar wages- we'd be mad not to keep him on. If he demands terms way beyond his worth, reluctantly say goodbye.

For our squad, that's a caveat larger than Ade's wang...

Surely it's easier to say he didn't like Petrov, Garrido, Benjani, Bojinov, Robinho, Elano, Dunne, Gelson and Vassell (when they were fit). Half of them didn't/don't seem to like City either, so no love lost there. Dunne, Vassell and Robson should definitely have featured more.

However, I totally agree that seeing Benjani as a crap signing was, and should have been, his downfall.

One of the best players at the club. Would be madness to let him go.

If SWP, RSC and Vieira are in the frame tonight, Rigsby could be closer to the bench again.
